5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and hygiene of your humidifier.

5.1 Cleaning the Water Tank

The removable water tank is designed for easy cleaning. It is recommended to clean the water tank weekly to prevent mineral buildup and bacterial growth.

  1. Unplug the humidifier from the power outlet.
  2. Remove the top section and the humidification wick.
  3. Empty any remaining water from the tank.
  4. Rinse the water tank thoroughly with clean water. For stubborn deposits, use a soft brush or cloth.
  5. Dry all parts before reassembling.

5.2 Humidification Wick Replacement

The humidification wick (filter) should be replaced approximately every 3 months, depending on water quality and usage. A worn-out wick may reduce humidification efficiency.

  • Unplug the humidifier.
  • Remove the top section and the old humidification wick.
  • Insert a new Philips replacement humidification wick into the unit.
  • Reassemble the humidifier.

5.3 No Descaling Required

Due to its natural evaporation technology, this humidifier does not use a heating plate, eliminating the need for descaling procedures commonly associated with other humidifier types.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your humidifier, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No mist or low humidification:
    • Check if the water tank is empty. Refill if necessary.
    • Ensure the humidification wick is properly installed and not excessively dirty. Replace if needed.
    • Verify that the appliance is plugged in and turned on.
  • Unusual noise:
    • Ensure the humidifier is placed on a stable, level surface.
    • Check if any foreign objects are obstructing the fan or internal components.
  • Unit not turning on:
    • Confirm the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet.
    • Check the control dial is set to 'LOW' or 'HIGH'.

If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, contact customer support.
