1. Introduction

The Safe T Alert 30 Series Flush Mount Propane/LP Gas Alarm is designed to provide reliable detection of propane leaks in recreational vehicles (RVs). This alarm is suitable for Class A, B, and C Motorhomes, Travel Trailers, Fifth Wheels, and Campers. It is engineered for seamless replacement of most CCI Controls LP Gas Leak Detectors, often without requiring rewiring or modifications. The unit operates on 12V DC power, eliminating the need for batteries and conserving power through energy-efficient circuitry. It features a long-lasting, self-cleaning sensor and an 85 dB alarm for consistent safety. 2. Safety Information

WARNING: This alarm will not operate without power. Ensure the green light is on. Do not connect to a wall switch-controlled outlet. Disconnect power before installing or servicing. Read the entire owner's manual before installation and operation.

• This device is designed to detect LP gas. It is not designed to detect smoke, carbon monoxide, or other gases.
• Regularly test the alarm using the Test/Mute button.
• Do not paint the alarm. Painting may interfere with the sensor's operation.

The Safe T Alert 30-442-P-BL is designed for flush mounting. It is often a direct replacement for existing CCI Controls LP Gas Leak Detectors. Ensure the installation location is appropriate for LP gas detection, typically low to the floor as propane is heavier than air.

Installation Steps:

1. Disconnect Power: Before beginning installation, ensure all 12V DC power to the RV is disconnected to prevent electrical shock or damage.
2. Remove Old Unit (if applicable): If replacing an existing alarm, carefully remove it from its mounting location. Note the wiring connections.
3. Wiring: The alarm operates on 12V DC. Connect the alarm's wires to the RV's 12V power supply. Typically, the red wire connects to the positive (+) 12V DC supply, and the black wire connects to the negative (-) 12V DC ground. Note: Some units may come with bare wires, requiring splicing to existing connectors or direct wiring.
4. Mounting: Secure the alarm into the flush-mount opening. Ensure it is firmly seated.
5. Restore Power: Reconnect the 12V DC power to the RV.
6. Initial Power-Up: Upon initial power-up, the alarm will perform a self-test. The green LED should illuminate, indicating proper operation.
7. Test Functionality: Press and hold the Test/Mute button to verify the alarm sounds.

5. Operating Instructions

LED Indicators:

• Green LED On: Normal operation.
• Red LED On: LP Gas detected, alarm sounding.
• Red/Green Flashing (simultaneously): Fault or Low Voltage condition.
• Red/Green Flashing (alternating): End of Life signal. The unit needs replacement. Resetting the unit will silence the End of Life signal for 3 days, but the unit must be replaced. The mute function will not operate after 30 days of an End of Life signal.

Test/Mute Button:

• Test Function: Press and hold the button briefly to test the alarm's functionality. The alarm will sound, and the red LED will illuminate.
• Mute Function: If the alarm sounds due to LP gas detection, pressing the Test/Mute button will temporarily silence the alarm for a few minutes to allow for ventilation. The alarm remains fully operational during the mute cycle and will re-alarm if hazardous conditions persist or recur.

• Regular Testing: Test the alarm weekly or before each trip by pressing the Test/Mute button.
• Cleaning: Keep the alarm free from dust and debris. Gently wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use cleaning agents or paint the unit.
• Sensor Life: The alarm features a self-cleaning sensor designed for long life. However, all gas sensors have a limited operational lifespan.
