Operating Instructions

Cooking Rice

The Aroma ARC-360-NGP is designed to perfectly cook various types of rice with simple one-touch operation.

  1. Using the included measuring cup, measure the desired amount of rice. One full measuring cup of uncooked rice yields approximately 2 cups of cooked rice.
  2. Rinse rice in a separate bowl until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch.
  3. Place the rinsed rice into the nonstick inner pot.
  4. Add the appropriate amount of water. For white rice, use the water lines inside the inner pot as a guide (e.g., for 5 cups of uncooked rice, fill water to the '5' line). Adjust water quantity based on rice type and desired consistency.
  5. Place the inner pot into the rice cooker base and close the tempered glass lid securely.
  6. Plug the power cord into a 120V AC wall outlet.
  7. Press the 'COOK' switch down. The 'COOK' indicator light will illuminate.
  8. Once the rice is cooked, the 'COOK' switch will automatically flip up, and the cooker will switch to 'WARM' mode. The 'WARM' indicator light will illuminate.
  9. For best results, allow rice to rest on 'WARM' for 5-10 minutes after cooking, then stir with the serving spatula to release excess moisture.

Steaming Food

The included steam tray allows you to steam vegetables, fish, and other foods while your rice cooks below, or independently.

  1. Add approximately 2-3 cups of water to the inner pot. The amount of water will vary based on the food being steamed and desired steaming time.
  2. Place the food to be steamed into the steam tray. Ensure food is cut into uniform pieces for even cooking.
  3. Carefully place the steam tray onto the rim of the inner pot.
  4. Close the tempered glass lid securely.
  5. Plug the power cord into a 120V AC wall outlet and press the 'COOK' switch down. The 'COOK' indicator light will illuminate.
  6. Monitor the food for desired doneness. Steaming times will vary depending on the type and quantity of food.
  7. Once steaming is complete, carefully lift the lid (away from your face to avoid steam) and remove the steam tray using oven mitts.
  8. Press the 'COOK' switch up to turn off the cooker, or allow it to switch to 'WARM' if rice is also cooking.
