Setup
Battery Installation:
The Stealth Cam Digital Night Vision Monocular requires 4 AA batteries (not included) for operation. Follow these steps to install the batteries:
- Locate the battery compartment on the device.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert four AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Note: Always use fresh, high-quality alkaline or rechargeable AA batteries for optimal performance. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.
Initial Focus Adjustment:
Before first use, adjust the focus to your eyesight and the viewing distance.
- Look through the eyepiece.
- Rotate the objective lens focus ring until the image on the display is clear and sharp.
- Adjust the eyepiece diopter (if present) for individual eye comfort and clarity.
Operating Instructions
Power On/Off:
- To power on the monocular, press and hold the power button (usually marked with a power symbol) until the display illuminates.
- To power off, press and hold the power button again until the display turns off.
Digital Zoom:
The monocular features 9X digital zoom. Use the "ZOOM" button to adjust the magnification level.
- Press the "ZOOM" button to cycle through available zoom levels.
- Observe the display for changes in magnification.
Infrared (IR) Illuminator:
The 1 Watt IR Illuminator enhances viewing in complete darkness. It is typically activated automatically in low light or can be manually controlled.
- Press the "IR" button to activate or adjust the intensity of the infrared illuminator.
- Higher IR intensity provides brighter images in darker conditions but may consume more battery power.
Adjusting Frames Per Second (FPS):
The FPS setting can be adjusted to control the brightness and smoothness of the image on the display.
- Press the "FPS" button to cycle through different frame rate settings.
- A higher FPS may result in a smoother image, while a lower FPS might be used in extremely low light to gather more light per frame.
Day and Night Use:
The monocular is designed for both day and night use with an integrated IR filter.
- Day Use: The integrated IR filter prevents overexposure in bright conditions. The image will appear in full color.
- Night Use: In low light or darkness, the device automatically switches to night vision mode (monochrome green or black and white) and the IR illuminator can be activated for enhanced visibility.
Maintenance
- Cleaning Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. Gently wipe the lens surfaces to remove dust or smudges. Do not use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
- Cleaning Body: Wipe the monocular's body with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using solvents or strong cleaning agents.
- Storage: Store the monocular in its durable nylon carrying pouch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
- Water Exposure: This device is not waterproof. Avoid exposing it to rain, splashes, or immersion in water.
