4. Setup and Installation

The Golmar T-1772VD is designed as an extra telephone for a 2-wire audio kit system (e.g., AS-1220sii). Follow these steps for proper installation:

4.1 Wall Mounting

  1. Choose a suitable location on a wall, ensuring it is within reach of the existing 2-wire audio kit wiring.
  2. Use the wall mounting bracket as a template to mark the drilling points. The bracket features multiple fixing points for flexibility.
  3. Drill holes at the marked positions and insert appropriate wall plugs (if necessary).
  4. Secure the wall mounting bracket to the wall using the provided screws.

4.2 Wiring Connection

Important: Ensure the main audio kit system is powered off before making any electrical connections.

  1. Locate the 2-wire connection terminals on the back of the T-1772VD telephone unit.
  2. Connect the 2-wire cable from your audio kit system to the corresponding terminals on the telephone unit. Refer to your main audio kit manual for specific wiring diagrams if needed.
  3. Once the wiring is secure, carefully attach the T-1772VD telephone unit to the mounted bracket.
  4. Connect the detachable handset cord to the designated port on the telephone unit and to the handset.
  5. Restore power to the main audio kit system.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Receiving a Call

  • When the telephone rings, lift the handset to answer the call.
  • To end the call, replace the handset on the cradle.

5.2 Making an Intercom Call (if supported by your audio kit system)

The T-1772VD features a single keypad. The method for making an intercom call depends on your specific Golmar audio kit system. Typically, you would:

  1. Lift the handset.
  2. Dial the internal extension number of the desired recipient.
  3. Wait for the recipient to answer.
  4. Replace the handset to end the call.

Refer to your main audio kit system's manual for detailed instructions on internal calling features.

5.3 Door Release Function (if supported by your audio kit system)

If your audio kit system includes a door release function, there will typically be a dedicated button on the T-1772VD telephone unit. This button is usually marked with a key symbol.

  • During an active call with an outdoor panel, press the door release button to unlock the door.
  • The door will remain unlocked for a short period, as configured in your main system.

Consult your main audio kit system's manual for specific details on the door release operation.

6. Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the telephone. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or strong detergents, as these can damage the plastic housing.
  • Dust: Regularly wipe away dust from the keypad and handset to prevent accumulation that could affect performance.
  • Environment: Ensure the telephone is kept in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
