3. Setup Instructions

  1. Mounting the Motor: Securely attach the transom mount bracket to the transom of your boat using the provided mounting hardware. Ensure the motor is firmly clamped to prevent movement during operation.
  2. Connecting the Power Cord: The foot pedal is connected to a power cord. At the end of this power cord, align the pins with the adapter on the motor and insert it. A lock mechanism on top of the adapter helps secure the connection.
  3. Battery Connection: Connect the motor's power cables to a compatible 12V deep cycle marine battery. Ensure correct polarity (red to positive, black to negative).
  4. Adjusting Shaft Height: The motor shaft is adjustable. Loosen the knob on the shaft, open the flap, and move the shaft up or down to achieve the desired depth in the water. Tighten the knob securely once adjusted.

4. Operating Instructions

  1. Foot Pedal Controls:
    • On/Off Button: Located on the left side of the foot pedal, press to activate or deactivate the motor.
    • Speed Dial: Positioned on the opposite side of the foot pedal, this dial allows you to select one of five speed settings.
    • Momentary/Continuous Switch: On the base of the pedal, this switch allows you to choose between momentary (motor runs only while pedal is pressed) and continuous (motor runs until switched off) operation.
  2. Steering: The heel-to-toe foot pedal controls the direction of the motor. Pressing the toe end will turn the motor in one direction, while pressing the heel end will turn it in the opposite direction. A direction indicator on the motor head shows the current orientation of the motor.
  3. Tilting the Motor: To tilt the motor out of the water, locate the release handle on the motor mount. Engage the handle to unlock the tilt mechanism and lift the motor.

5. Maintenance

  • Regular Cleaning: After each use, especially in saltwater, rinse the motor thoroughly with fresh water to prevent corrosion.
  • Propeller Inspection: Periodically check the two-blade propeller for any damage, such as nicks or bends. Replace if necessary to maintain optimal performance and prevent vibration.
  • Battery Care: Ensure your 12V battery is properly charged and maintained according to the battery manufacturer's instructions.
  • Cable and Connection Check: Inspect all cables and connections for wear, fraying, or corrosion. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Motor Not Operating:
    • Check battery connections for tightness and corrosion.
    • Verify the battery is fully charged.
    • Ensure the power cord is securely connected to the foot pedal and motor adapter.
    • Check the on/off button and momentary/continuous switch on the foot pedal.
  • Reduced Power/Speed:
    • Inspect the propeller for weeds, fishing line, or damage. Clear any obstructions or replace damaged props.
    • Check battery charge level. A low battery will result in reduced performance.
  • Excessive Vibration:
    • Examine the propeller for damage or imbalance.
    • Ensure the motor is securely mounted to the transom.
