Setup

Unpacking and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all parts are present: trash can base, lid, and liner rings. Inspect for any damage that may have occurred during shipping. If any parts are missing or damaged, please contact customer support.

Battery Installation

The NINESTARS DZT-50-13R requires 3 C batteries (not included) for the motion sensor functionality. The battery compartment is located on the underside of the lid.

1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the lid.
2. Open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert 3 C batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Liner Ring Installation

The unit includes removable liner rings designed to secure trash bags and keep them out of sight for a neat appearance.

1. Place your trash bag into the appropriate compartment of the trash can.
2. Wrap the top edge of the trash bag over the liner ring.
3. Insert the liner ring with the bag into the trash can compartment, ensuring the bag is securely held in place.

Operating Instructions

Automatic Motion Sensor Operation

The DZT-50-13R features an infrared motion sensor for touchless operation. This allows for hygienic waste disposal, especially when your hands are full.

• Ensure the power switch on the back of the lid is in the "ON" position.
• Pass your hand or an object within 10 inches (25 cm) or a 130° angle from the infrared sensor located on the front of the lid.
• The lid will automatically open. It will remain open as long as your hand or object is within the sensor's range.
• Three seconds after your hand or object moves away from the sensor, the lid will automatically close.

Manual Mode Operation

For extended use or when you need the lid to remain open for a longer period, you can activate the manual mode.

• To open the lid manually, press the "OPEN" button located on the front of the lid.
• The lid will remain open until you press the "CLOSE" button.
• To close the lid, press the "CLOSE" button.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Unit

To maintain the appearance and hygiene of your trash can, regular cleaning is recommended.

• Wipe the exterior of the stainless steel base with a soft, damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive pads that could scratch the surface.
• For the lid, use a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the lid in water or spray water directly onto it, as this can damage the electronic components.
• Ensure the unit is completely dry before re-installing the lid or operating.

Replacing Trash Bags

The dual compartments are designed for efficient waste separation. The unit is compatible with standard 13-gallon trash bags.

• Turn off the power switch on the back of the lid before replacing bags.
• Remove the lid from the base.
• Lift the full trash bags out of the liner rings and dispose of them.
• Place new trash bags into the compartments and secure them with the liner rings as described in the Setup section.
• Replace the lid securely on the base and turn the power switch back on.
