Setup and First Use

Filling the Water Tank

Before using the steam function, ensure the iron is unplugged. Open the water fill cover located on the top of the iron. Fill the water tank with distilled water up to the 'Max Fill' line. Using distilled water helps prevent mineral buildup and extends the life of your iron. Close the water fill cover securely before plugging in the iron.

Temperature and Fabric Settings

Plug the iron into a suitable electrical outlet. Turn the temperature dial to the desired fabric setting (e.g., Linen, Cotton, Wool, Silk, Synthetic). The iron will begin to heat up. Wait for the indicator light to turn off, signaling that the iron has reached the selected temperature.

Operating Instructions

Ironing with Steam

Once the iron has reached the desired temperature, you can activate the steam function. For continuous steam, adjust the steam control slider to the desired steam level. For a powerful burst of steam, press the 'Shot of Steam' button. This feature is effective for removing stubborn wrinkles on flat surfaces or for vertical steaming of hanging garments.

Vertical Steaming

To use the vertical steam feature, hold the iron upright, close to the hanging garment. Press the 'Shot of Steam' button repeatedly to release bursts of steam. This is ideal for refreshing clothes, drapes, or upholstery without needing an ironing board.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning the Iron

To clean the exterior of the iron, ensure it is unplugged and completely cool. Wipe the surface with a damp rag. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish. For the soleplate, if starch or residue builds up, clean it with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner designed for iron soleplates.

Self-Clean Feature

The iron is equipped with a self-clean button to help remove mineral deposits from the steam vents. Refer to the full user manual for detailed instructions on how to perform the self-cleaning cycle to maintain optimal steam performance.

Storage

Always store the iron upright on its heel rest to prevent damage to the soleplate. Ensure the water tank is empty before storing to prevent water spots or mineral buildup. The 8-foot 360° swivel cord can be wrapped around the base for neat storage.

Troubleshooting

Iron Not Heating

Ensure the iron is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check the temperature dial to make sure it is set to a fabric setting and not 'Off'. If the iron has been idle for 30 minutes, the 3-way motion smart auto-off feature may have activated, turning the iron off for safety. Simply move the iron or press the 'Restart' button to reactivate heating.

Water Leaking from Soleplate

Ensure the temperature setting is high enough for steam production (typically Linen or Cotton settings). If the temperature is too low, water may leak instead of turning into steam. Also, verify that the water tank is not overfilled. The anti-drip system is designed to prevent leaks, but overfilling can sometimes cause issues. If using tap water, mineral buildup might be a cause; consider using distilled water and performing a self-clean cycle.

No Steam Production

Check if the water tank is filled with water. Ensure the steam control slider is set to a steam position and not 'Off'. The iron must be at a high enough temperature to produce steam; allow sufficient time for preheating. If the steam vents are clogged with mineral deposits, perform a self-clean cycle.
