1. Introduction

2. Important Safety Instructions

4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Initial Placement

  1. Remove all packaging materials from the machine.
  2. Place the machine on a stable, level surface, away from water sources and heat.
  3. Ensure there is adequate space around the machine for ventilation and access to the water tank and bean hopper.

4.2 Filling the Water Tank

  1. Remove the water tank from the machine.
  2. Fill the tank with fresh, cold tap water up to the MAX level indicator.
  3. Replace the water tank securely in the machine.

4.3 Filling the Bean Hopper

  1. Open the lid of the bean hopper.
  2. Pour fresh coffee beans into the hopper. Do not overfill.
  3. Close the lid securely.

4.4 First Use and Rinsing Cycle

  1. Plug the machine into a grounded electrical outlet.
  2. Turn on the machine using the power button. The machine will perform an automatic rinsing cycle.
  3. Place a container under the coffee spouts to collect the water.
  4. Wait for the machine to complete the cycle and indicate it is ready for use.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Making Espresso/Coffee

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled and the bean hopper contains coffee beans.
  2. Place one or two cups under the coffee spouts.
  3. Select your desired coffee strength using the central dial on the control panel.
  4. Press the button for single or double espresso/coffee. The machine will grind the beans, brew, and dispense the coffee.
  5. The machine will automatically stop when the brewing process is complete.

5.2 Using Pre-Ground Coffee

  1. Ensure the machine is on and ready.
  2. Open the ground coffee chute cover.
  3. Add one level scoop of pre-ground coffee into the chute. Do not add more than one scoop.
  4. Place a cup under the coffee spouts.
  5. Press the pre-ground coffee button (if available, refer to your specific model's control panel).

5.3 Frothing Milk (for Cappuccino/Latte)

  1. Fill a milk jug with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy).
  2. Position the steam wand into the milk, just below the surface.
  3. Turn the steam knob to activate steam.
  4. Move the jug slowly up and down to create foam.
  5. Once desired foam is achieved, turn off the steam knob.
  6. Clean the steam wand immediately after use by wiping with a damp cloth and purging a small amount of steam.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Drip Tray and Grounds Container: Empty and rinse daily.
  • Coffee Spouts: Wipe with a damp cloth.
  • Steam Wand: Clean immediately after each use as described in section 5.3.

6.2 Weekly Cleaning

  • Brew Unit: Remove the brew unit (refer to machine diagram for location), rinse under running water, and allow to air dry before reinserting.
  • Water Tank: Rinse the water tank thoroughly.

6.3 Descaling

The machine will indicate when descaling is required. Use only De'Longhi descaling solution. Follow the instructions provided with the descaling solution carefully.

  1. Empty the water tank and fill with descaling solution and water as per the descaler instructions.
  2. Place a large container under the coffee spouts and steam wand.
  3. Initiate the descaling cycle (refer to your machine's specific descaling procedure, usually indicated by a light or button combination).
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts or indicator lights until the cycle is complete.
  5. Rinse the water tank and fill with fresh water, then run several rinsing cycles to remove any descaler residue.

6.4 Water Filter Replacement

If your machine uses a water filter, replace it approximately every two months or when indicated by the machine. Refer to the filter packaging for specific instructions.

7. Troubleshooting
