Setup and Picture Insertion

  1. Prepare the Frame: Carefully place the frame face down on a clean, soft surface to prevent scratches.
  2. Remove Backing: Unfasten the flexible tabs or clips holding the backing board in place. Gently lift and remove the backing board and any protective layers (like paper or film) from the glazing.
  3. Insert Artwork/Photo: If using a mat, place your artwork or photo behind the mat opening. Then, place the mat (with artwork) onto the glazing. If not using a mat, place your artwork directly onto the glazing. Ensure the artwork is centered and aligned as desired.
  4. Reinsert Backing: Place the backing board firmly back into the frame, ensuring all components are snug.
  5. Secure Backing: Refasten the flexible tabs or clips to hold the backing board securely.
  6. Clean Glazing: Gently clean the glazing with a soft, lint-free cloth and a suitable plastic cleaner to remove any fingerprints or dust.

Hanging Instructions

For Frames 16x20 Inches and Larger (Wire Hanging Kit)

Your 22x26 inch frame includes a wire hanging kit for secure installation.

  1. Attach D-Rings: On the back of the frame, measure approximately one-third of the way down from the top edge on each side. Mark these points. Screw the two D-rings (triangle hangers) into the frame at these marked points.
  2. Attach Wire: Thread the hanging wire through one D-ring, twist it securely around itself several times. Stretch the wire across the back of the frame to the other D-ring, leaving a slight slack (enough to hang on a hook but not so much that the frame tilts forward). Thread the wire through the second D-ring and twist it securely.
  3. Install Wall Hook: Determine the desired hanging height. Install a sturdy picture hook or anchor into the wall at this point. Ensure the hook is rated for the weight of your framed artwork.
  4. Hang Frame: Carefully lift the frame and place the center of the hanging wire onto the wall hook. Adjust to ensure the frame is level.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Frame: Wipe the wood frame with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
  • Cleaning the Glazing (Plexiglass): Use a specialized plastic cleaner or a mild soap and water solution with a soft, non-abrasive cloth. Avoid ammonia-based cleaners, as they can cloud plexiglass.
  • Dusting: Regularly dust the frame and glazing with a soft cloth or feather duster.
  • Placement: Avoid placing the frame in direct sunlight or in areas with extreme temperature fluctuations or high humidity, as this can cause warping or fading of the frame or artwork.

Troubleshooting

Frame appears crooked after hanging:
Ensure the wall hook or nail is level. For wire hanging, check that the wire is evenly distributed on the hook. Adjust the frame gently until level.
Dust or debris visible under the glazing:
Carefully remove the backing and glazing. Clean both sides of the glazing and the artwork with a lint-free cloth before reassembling.
Artwork is slipping or not centered:
Reopen the frame and reposition the artwork. Ensure the backing board is securely fastened to hold the contents in place.
