3. Setup

  1. Place the hair setter on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
  2. Ensure the unit is unplugged before placing rollers into the heating wells.
  3. Plug the Remington Ionic Conditioning Hair Setter into a standard electrical outlet.
  4. The ready indicator light will illuminate once the rollers have reached the optimal temperature for styling. This typically takes several minutes.

4. Operating Instructions

Preparation:

  • Ensure hair is clean, dry, and free of tangles.
  • For best results, apply a heat protectant spray evenly through your hair.

Applying Rollers:

  1. Once the ready indicator light is on, carefully remove a heated roller from the unit, holding it by its cool-touch ends.
  2. Choose the appropriate roller size for your desired curl: large rollers for looser curls and volume, medium for classic curls, and small for tighter curls or shorter hair sections.
  3. Take a section of hair that is no wider than the roller.
  4. Place the roller at the end of the hair section and roll upwards towards the scalp.
  5. Secure the roller in place using a color-coded J-clip, ensuring the clip holds the roller firmly against the scalp without creasing the hair.
  6. Repeat this process until all desired sections of hair have rollers.

Setting and Removal:

  1. Allow the rollers to cool completely in your hair. This typically takes 10-20 minutes, depending on hair type and desired curl intensity. The longer the rollers remain in, the more defined and long-lasting the curls will be.
  2. Gently remove the J-clips, then carefully unroll each roller from your hair. Avoid pulling or tugging.
  3. Once all rollers are removed, allow your curls to cool for a few minutes before styling. This helps to set the curls.
  4. Style your hair as desired, using your fingers or a wide-tooth comb to gently separate curls for a softer look.

5. Maintenance

Cleaning:

  • Always unplug the hair setter and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior of the unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the unit in water.
  • To clean the rollers, gently wipe them with a damp cloth. Ensure they are completely dry before storing or reusing.
  • Remove any hair strands or product residue from the rollers and heating wells regularly.

Storage:

  • Store the appliance in a cool, dry place.
  • Do not wrap the cord around the appliance. This can cause premature wear and breakage of the cord.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Rollers not heating: Ensure the unit is properly plugged into a functioning electrical outlet. Check if the power switch is on. Allow sufficient time for the rollers to heat up (the ready indicator light should illuminate).
  • Curls not holding: Ensure hair is completely dry before applying rollers. Allow rollers to cool completely in hair before removal. For longer-lasting curls, use a styling product before rolling and a light hairspray after styling.
  • Hair frizzes after styling: Ensure rollers are fully heated. The ionic conditioning feature helps reduce frizz; ensure hair is not over-dried or damaged. Consider using a leave-in conditioner or anti-frizz serum.
  • Rollers leaving creases: Ensure J-clips are applied correctly, securing the roller without pinching the hair too tightly at the base. The J-clips are designed to minimize creasing.
