3. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Pictopia game:

1. Place the game board in the center of your playing area.
2. Shuffle the 200 Trivia Cards and place them face down in the designated space on the game board.
3. Each player chooses a mover and an Answer Card (Mickey-shaped dial).
4. Each player takes a set of 5 Wager Coins (numbered 1 through 5).
5. The player who most recently visited a Disney park or watched a Disney movie is the first host. If there's a tie, the youngest player is the host.

4. Operating Instructions (How to Play)

Pictopia is a picture-trivia game where players answer questions to advance their movers around the board and reach the castle space to win. The game involves various question types and strategic wagering.

4.1. On Your Turn (Being the Host)

1. Roll the die and move your mover exactly the number of spaces rolled.
2. Draw a Trivia Card. The host reads the question corresponding to the color of the space their mover landed on.
3. The host looks at the pictures on the front of the card and the questions on the back. They do NOT read the answer key aloud.

4.2. Question Types

There are two main types of questions: Group Questions and Individual Questions.

• Group Questions (Star Spaces): All players, except the host, work together to answer the question. There are three types:
  • Pick 1: One correct answer.
  • Pick 2: Two correct answers.
  • Pick 3: Three correct answers.
• Individual Questions (Mickey Head Spaces): Players use their Answer Dials to secretly select their answer. There are two types:
  • Solo Pick 1: Only one player picks an answer.
  • Spotlight: All players answer, and the host guesses how others answered.

4.3. Answering and Wagering

After the host reads the question, all other players secretly select their answer using their Mickey-shaped Answer Dial. Players then place a Wager Coin (1-5) face down on their Answer Dial, indicating how confident they are in their answer. Once all players have wagered, they reveal their answers and the host reveals the correct answer.

If a player answers correctly, they advance their mover the number of spaces indicated on their Wager Coin. If incorrect, they do not move. Wager Coins are returned to players at the end of each round.

4.4. Winning the Game

The first player to reach the castle space on the game board wins the game. If multiple players reach the castle space in the same round, the player who wagered the highest on their final question wins. If there's still a tie, the player who answered the most questions correctly throughout the game wins.
