1. Introduction

2. Safety Information

4. Setup and Installation

The EXG LED EL M6 exit sign is designed for universal mounting. Follow these steps for proper installation:

5. Operating Instructions

Normal Operation: When AC power is present, the LED 'EXIT' sign will be continuously illuminated. The internal Ni-Cad battery will be charged and maintained at full capacity.
Emergency Operation: In the event of an AC power failure, the exit sign will automatically switch to battery backup mode, providing illumination for a minimum of 90 minutes.
Test Button: A test button is typically located on the side or bottom of the fixture. Pressing this button simulates an AC power failure, allowing you to verify the emergency lighting function. The sign should remain illuminated while the button is pressed.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the reliability and longevity of your emergency exit sign:

Monthly Test: Press the test button for at least 30 seconds. The 'EXIT' sign should remain illuminated. Release the button; the sign should return to AC operation.
Annual Test: Disconnect AC power to the unit for a full 90 minutes. The 'EXIT' sign should remain illuminated for the entire duration. Reconnect AC power after the test.
Cleaning: Clean the thermoplastic housing and faceplate periodically with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
