4.2 Placement and Mounting
The PS900 is designed for standard 1U rack mounting. Secure the unit into a 19-inch equipment rack using appropriate rack screws (not included). Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit to prevent overheating. Alternatively, the unit can be placed on a flat, stable surface, utilizing its rubber feet for stability.

4.3 Connecting to Power
Connect the heavy-duty power cord from the PS900's rear panel to a grounded AC power outlet. Ensure the power outlet provides the correct voltage (120V AC, 60Hz for North American models). The unit features a robust power cord designed for reliable connection.

4.4 Connecting Equipment
Plug your audio/video equipment into the outlets on the PS900. The unit provides 2 outlets on the front panel and 8 sequenced outlets on the rear panel. For optimal performance and protection, distribute your equipment across the available outlets. The sequencing feature allows for controlled power-up and power-down of connected devices, preventing sudden power surges that can damage sensitive electronics.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
To power on the unit, press the main POWER switch located on the front panel. The unit will initiate its power sequencing, turning on each of the 8 rear outlets in a timed sequence. The front outlets are typically unswitched or can be controlled independently. To power off, press the POWER switch again; the unit will power down the outlets in reverse sequence.

5.2 Monitoring Display
The front panel features an LED display that shows real-time AC voltage, ambient temperature, and step time. This allows you to monitor the power status and environmental conditions affecting your equipment.
5.3 Bypass Function
The PS900 includes a Bypass function. When activated, this function allows all outlets to power on or off simultaneously, bypassing the sequential power-up/down feature. Refer to the front panel controls for the Bypass button.
5.4 Series Linking (Master/Slave)
For larger setups, multiple PS900 units can be linked in series using the Control Signal Link ports on the rear panel. This allows a single master unit to control the power sequencing of up to 100 slave units, ensuring synchronized power management across all connected equipment.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the unit. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ventilation: Regularly check that the ventilation openings are clear of dust and debris to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating.
- Cable Connections: Periodically inspect all power cords and connected cables for any signs of wear, fraying, or damage. Replace damaged cables immediately.
- Circuit Breaker: The unit may include a resettable circuit breaker. If an overload occurs, the breaker will trip to protect connected equipment. Disconnect some devices, then reset the breaker.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power to unit or outlets. | Unit is not plugged in; main power switch is off; circuit breaker tripped. | Ensure power cord is securely plugged into a live outlet. Turn the main POWER switch ON. Check and reset the circuit breaker if tripped. |
| Equipment not powering on in sequence. | Bypass function is active; individual channel switch is off; control cable issue (for linked units). | Deactivate the Bypass function. Ensure individual channel switches are in the correct position. Check the control signal link cable for secure connection. |
| Unusual noise or interference. | Ground loop; external electromagnetic interference. | Ensure all equipment is properly grounded. Check for other devices causing interference. The PS900's EMI filter should mitigate most issues. |
| Voltage display shows abnormal readings. | Input voltage fluctuation; unit malfunction. | Verify the wall outlet voltage with a separate meter. If readings are consistently abnormal and not fluctuating, contact customer support. |
