1. Introduction

The BLACK+DECKER Dustbuster PIVOT VAC 20V MAX* Cordless Handheld Vacuum is designed for efficient cleaning of both large and small messes. Its cordless convenience makes it ideal for use throughout your home and in your vehicle. Featuring an innovative pivoting design and a wide mouth nozzle, this vacuum allows access to narrow spaces and effectively picks up large debris. 3. Components

The BLACK+DECKER Pivot VAC includes the following components:

4. Setup

4.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the vacuum. Place the vacuum onto the charging dock. The charging time is approximately 240 minutes (4 hours). The charging base provides convenient storage while charging.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

To turn the vacuum on, slide the power switch forward. To turn it off, slide the switch backward.

5.2 Using the Pivoting Nozzle

The unique pivoting nozzle allows you to adjust the angle of the vacuum head to reach awkward spaces, such as high shelves or tight corners. Simply press the pivot release button and adjust the nozzle to your desired angle.

5.3 Using Built-in Accessories

The vacuum features integrated tools for versatile cleaning:

• Flip-up Brush: For quick mess clean-up on delicate surfaces or to agitate debris, simply flip up the brush located at the end of the nozzle.

• Extendable Crevice Tool: To reach tight spaces or deep crevices, pull out the extendable crevice tool from the nozzle. This is particularly useful for cleaning car interiors or between couch cushions.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Emptying the Dustbowl

The translucent dustbowl allows you to see when it needs emptying. To empty, detach the dustbowl from the main unit and dispose of collected debris. Regular emptying ensures optimal suction.

6.2 Cleaning the Filter

The washable filter (Model PVF110) should be cleaned regularly to maintain performance. Detach the dustbowl, remove the filter, and rinse it under running water. Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting it into the vacuum. Do not use the vacuum without a dry filter.

7. Troubleshooting

If the vacuum experiences reduced suction or performance, check the following:

• Ensure the dustbowl is not full and has been emptied.
• Check if the filter is clean and properly installed. A clogged or wet filter can significantly reduce suction.
• Verify that the nozzle and attachments are free from blockages.
• Confirm the battery is fully charged.
