Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal sound quality and extends the life of your cassette deck.
1. Cleaning the Tape Heads and Path
After approximately 10 hours of use, or if sound quality deteriorates, clean the tape heads, capstans, and pinch rollers. Use a cotton swab lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol. Gently wipe the surfaces until clean. Allow to dry completely before use.
2. Demagnetization
Tape heads can become magnetized over time, leading to dull sound. Use a tape head demagnetizer periodically (e.g., every 50-100 hours of use) according to the demagnetizer's instructions. Ensure the unit is powered off during demagnetization.
3. Exterior Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
