Setup
- Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the back of the monitor. Insert the four AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment.
- Connect Air Tube: Insert the air plug of the cuff firmly into the air jack on the left side of the monitor.
- Set Date and Time: For accurate tracking of your measurements, it is recommended to set the current year, month, day, and time. Refer to the detailed instructions in the included manual for specific steps on setting these parameters.
Operating Instructions
Before Taking a Measurement:
- Avoid eating, drinking alcohol, smoking, exercising, or bathing for 30 minutes before measurement.
- Rest for at least 15 minutes before taking a measurement.
- Sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor and your arm resting on a table so the cuff is at heart level.
Taking a Measurement:
- Apply the Arm Cuff: Wrap the Easy Cuff around your upper left arm, approximately 1-2 cm above your elbow. Ensure the air tube runs down the inside of your arm. The monitor will indicate if the cuff is applied correctly.
- Select User: Use the user selection switch (User 1 or User 2) to choose the appropriate profile for storing your measurement. The device can store 60 measurements for each of two users.
- Start Measurement: Press the START/STOP button. The cuff will begin to inflate automatically using Intellisense Technology, which ensures the cuff inflates only as much as necessary.
- Remain Still: Do not talk or move during the measurement.
- View Results: Once the measurement is complete, your systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate will be displayed on the screen.
Understanding Indicators:
- Cuff Wrap Guide: An icon on the display indicates if the cuff has been wrapped correctly, ensuring accurate readings.
- Irregular Heartbeat Detection: If an irregular heartbeat is detected during the measurement, a symbol will appear on the display. Consult your physician if this symbol appears frequently.
- Hypertension Indicator: The monitor provides an indicator to signal if your blood pressure reading is above the recommended levels for hypertension.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the monitor and cuff with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive or volatile cleaners.
- Storage: Store the device in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity. Keep it in its original case if available.
- Battery Replacement: When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace all four AA batteries simultaneously. The stored measurement data will not be lost during battery replacement.
