Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation and operation of the Fortin EVO-FORT1 Stand-Alone Add-On Remote Start Car Starter System. This system is designed for select Ford IKT round remote with metal key vehicles (automatic transmission only) and includes the EVO-ALL module and THAR-FORT1 t-harness. Proper installation and programming are essential for correct functionality.

Setup & Installation
General Guidelines
- For use on automatic transmission vehicles only.
- Two (2) keys are required to program the EVO-ALL module to the vehicle.
- Programming with a separate FLASH-LINK is required for advanced options and vehicle-specific settings.
- Consult the official Fortin website for detailed vehicle-specific wiring schematics and instructions.
Step-by-Step Installation
- Preparation: Ensure the vehicle is turned off and the parking brake is engaged. Gather necessary tools (e.g., screwdriver, pry tool).
- Access Steering Column: Carefully remove any screws and pry open the lower covers of the steering column to access the ignition and wiring.
- Connect Ignition T-Harness: Locate the vehicle's ignition harness. Disconnect it and connect the provided THAR-FORT1 T-harness in-line. Ensure all connections click firmly into place.
- Access OBD-II Port: Locate the OBD-II diagnostic port, typically under the dashboard on the driver's side. Remove it from its mounting bracket.
- Connect OBD-II T-Harness: Disconnect the vehicle's original OBD-II connector. Connect the appropriate T-harness adapter (provided with the EVO-FORT1) to the OBD-II port, and then connect the vehicle's original connector to the other end of the T-harness adapter.
- Connect Module Wires: Connect the 7-pin white and 4-pin black connectors from the T-harness to the corresponding ports on the EVO-ALL remote start module.
- Module Programming - Step 1 (Data Link):
- Press and hold the programming button on the EVO-ALL module.
- While holding the button, connect the black connector to the module.
- Release the button when the blue LED on the module lights up.
- Module Programming - Step 2 (Ignition Cycle):
- Insert a key into the vehicle's ignition (do not start the engine).
- Turn the ignition to the ON position.
- Observe the module LEDs: The red LED will turn on, then flash green once.
- Turn the ignition OFF.
- Observe the module LEDs: All lights on the module should turn off.
- Module Programming - Step 3 (Ignition Cycle 2):
- Turn the ignition to the ON position again.
- Observe the module LEDs: The yellow LED will come on.
- Wait approximately 5 seconds.
- Turn the ignition OFF.
- Observe the module LEDs: All lights on the module should turn off.
- Final Module Programming (if applicable): For some models or advanced features, you may need to connect the 2-pin CAN connector to the CAN2 (HS1) connector. Then, turn the ignition ON (do not start the engine). The module LEDs should show red, then flash green rapidly, then turn solid green. Turn the ignition OFF.
- Secure Module & Reassemble: Mount the remote start module securely in a safe location under the dashboard, away from moving parts or excessive heat. Reassemble all removed panels and screws.

Operating Instructions
Remote Start Activation
To activate the remote start function, ensure all doors, hood, and tailgate are closed. Then, press the LOCK button on your factory remote three (3) times consecutively. The vehicle's engine should start after a brief delay.
Remote Start Deactivation
To turn off the engine after remote starting, you can either:
- Press the LOCK button on your factory remote three (3) times consecutively again.
- Press the brake pedal inside the vehicle.
Maintenance
The Fortin EVO-FORT1 Remote Start System is designed for minimal maintenance. No specific user maintenance is required beyond ensuring proper installation and operation. Periodically check all connections for security.
Troubleshooting
- System Not Programming: Ensure you have two working keys for your vehicle. Verify all T-harness connections are secure and correctly seated. Double-check the programming steps, paying close attention to LED indicators and ignition cycles.
- Remote Start Not Activating: Confirm all vehicle doors, hood, and tailgate are fully closed. Ensure the vehicle is in Park. Verify the factory remote is functioning correctly.
- Advanced Programming/Options: For customizing features like runtime or heated seats, a separate FLASH-LINK tool is required. This tool allows connection to a computer for detailed configuration.
