4. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to assemble your terrarium:
- Prepare the Potting Mix: Open the bag of potting mix. Add approximately 1/4 cup of water to the bag. Squish the bag until the potting mix clumps together like clay. If it's too wet, press out excess water.
- Layer the Terrarium:
- Add half of the prepared potting mix to the bottom of the terrarium jar. Gently press it down with a spoon or pencil.
- Carefully add a layer of glowing sand over the potting mix. You can use one or both colors.
- Add the remaining half of the potting mix over the sand layer.
- Place the mini river stones on top of the potting mix, leaving an area for planting.
- Add Figurines: Place the raccoon and campfire figurines into the terrarium on top of the stones.
- Plant the Seeds: Sprinkle a few chia seeds and wheatgrass seeds onto the exposed potting mix. Do not plant too many seeds in one area to avoid overcrowding. Gently push the seeds down slightly with a pencil.
- Watering: Fill the plant mister bottle with water. Mist the seeds and potting mix heavily until thoroughly damp, but not dripping.
- Decorate: Apply the garden stickers and glow-in-the-dark stickers to the outside of the terrarium jar.
- Close the Lid: Securely place the decorative lid on the terrarium jar.

5. Growing & Glowing
Once assembled, your terrarium will begin to grow and glow:
- Growth: Place your terrarium in a location that receives indirect sunlight. Seeds typically sprout in 3-4 days. Observe the growth daily.
- Glowing Feature: The glowing sand and stickers absorb light during the day. In a dark room, they will emit a soft glow, creating a magical nighttime effect. For best results, expose the terrarium to bright light for several hours before viewing in the dark.

6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity of your terrarium:
- Watering: Check the soil moisture daily. If the soil appears dry, mist it lightly with the plant mister. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to mold or root rot.
- Light: Keep the terrarium in indirect sunlight. Direct, intense sunlight can overheat the terrarium and harm the plants.
- Replanting: The kit includes enough seeds for two full planting cycles. Once your plants have completed their life cycle, you can clear out the old growth and replant new seeds following the initial setup instructions.
7. Troubleshooting
- Seeds not sprouting: Ensure the soil is consistently moist (but not waterlogged) and the terrarium receives adequate indirect light. Temperature also plays a role; a warm environment is ideal.
- Mold growth: This usually indicates overwatering or insufficient ventilation. Remove the lid for a few hours to allow excess moisture to evaporate. Reduce watering frequency.
- Plants wilting/browning: This could be due to too much direct sunlight (causing overheating) or insufficient water. Adjust placement or watering as needed.
