2. Safety Information
Read all instructions carefully before installing and operating the amplifier. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in injury, damage to the amplifier, or damage to your vehicle's electrical system.
General Safety Precautions:
- Professional Installation Recommended: If you are unsure about any aspect of installation, consult a qualified car audio technician.
- Power Disconnection: Always disconnect the vehicle's negative battery terminal before starting any electrical work.
- Ventilation: Ensure the amplifier is mounted in a location with adequate ventilation to prevent overheating. Do not cover the amplifier.
- Moisture Exposure: Avoid mounting the amplifier in locations exposed to moisture or direct sunlight.
- Wiring: Use appropriate gauge wiring for power, ground, and speaker connections as specified in the installation section. Improper wiring can cause fire or damage.
- Fuse Protection: Always use an external fuse or circuit breaker on the main power wire, close to the battery, with the recommended amperage.
- Volume Levels: Prolonged exposure to high volume levels can cause hearing damage.
3. Installation Guide
Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance and safety. Follow these steps carefully.

- Quick Start Guide (this manual)
3.2 Mounting Location:
Choose a mounting location that is dry, well-ventilated, and protected from physical damage. Ensure there is enough space around the amplifier for air circulation. The compact size of the TL 1500 allows for flexible placement, such as under seats or in the trunk.

3.3 Wiring Connections:
Refer to the diagram below for proper wiring connections. Ensure all connections are secure and insulated to prevent short circuits.

Figure 3.2: Labeled connection points for Power Input, Speaker Output, Bass Boost, RCA Inputs, and High Level Input.
- Power Input (POWER):
- Connect the (+) terminal to the positive terminal of your vehicle's battery using an 11 AWG power cable.
- Connect the (-) terminal to a good chassis ground point using an 11 AWG ground cable. Ensure the ground point is clean and free of paint.
- Install a 20A circuit breaker or fuse on the positive power cable, within 18 inches (45 cm) of the battery.
- Remote Turn-On (REM):
- Connect the REM terminal to the remote turn-on output of your head unit using an 18 AWG cable. This wire tells the amplifier to turn on when your head unit is active.
- Speaker Output (OUTPUT):
- Subwoofer Channel (4Ω): Connect your subwoofer to the dedicated 4Ω subwoofer output terminals. Use a 13 AWG speaker wire.
- Stereo Channels (2Ω R, 2Ω L): Connect your stereo speakers to the 2Ω R (Right) and 2Ω L (Left) output terminals. Use 15 AWG speaker wires.
- Input Connections:
- RCA Inputs (INPUT L, R): For head units with RCA pre-outs, connect RCA cables from your head unit to the amplifier's RCA input jacks.
- High-Level Input (INPUT + - + -): For head units without RCA pre-outs, connect the speaker-level outputs from your head unit to the high-level input terminal. This allows the amplifier to receive audio signals directly from your speaker wires.

Figure 3.3: The high-level input feature makes the TL 1500 ideal for integration with OEM (factory) head units.
4. Initial Setup
After installation, perform the following initial setup steps.
4.1 Input Selection:
The TL 1500 automatically detects whether RCA or High-Level input is being used. No manual selection switch is required.
4.2 Bass Boost Adjustment:
The amplifier features an adjustable Bass Boost control. This allows you to increase the bass output at 50Hz from 0 to 10dB. Adjust this knob to your preference, starting from the minimum setting and gradually increasing it to avoid distortion.
5. Operating Your Amplifier
Once properly installed and set up, the TL 1500 amplifier will automatically turn on with your head unit (if connected via the remote wire or high-level input with auto-sensing). Adjust the volume from your head unit. Fine-tune the bass boost as needed for your listening preferences.
5.1 Speaker Compatibility:
The full-range design of the TL 1500 ensures compatibility with a wide array of car audio speakers.

Figure 5.1: The TL 1500 is compatible with mid-range speakers, 6x9 inch speakers, drivers and tweeters, subwoofers, and woofers.
6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Taramp's TL 1500 amplifier, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the amplifier with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure no dust or debris accumulates in the heatsink fins.
- Ventilation: Regularly check that the amplifier's ventilation areas are not obstructed. Proper airflow is essential to prevent overheating.
- Connections: Occasionally inspect all wiring connections (power, ground, remote, and speaker) to ensure they remain tight and free from corrosion. Loose connections can lead to poor performance or damage.
- Environmental Factors: Protect the amplifier from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, and moisture.
