Setup

The Meinl Jumbo Bass Subwoofer Cajon is ready to play right out of the box. No assembly is required.

1. Placement: Place the cajon on a flat, stable surface. The silicone feet will prevent slipping and protect your floor.
2. Seating: Sit comfortably on the top surface of the cajon. The jumbo size is designed for comfortable seating during play.
3. Orientation: Ensure the dual sound ports are facing forward, towards your audience or microphone, for optimal bass projection.

Operating Instructions (Playing Techniques)

The cajon offers a range of sounds depending on where and how you strike the playing surface (tapa).

• Bass Tone: Strike the center of the playing surface with your palm and fingers flat. This area produces the deep, resonant bass sound, which is further amplified by the subwoofer design.
• Snare Tone: Strike the top edge of the playing surface with your fingertips. The internal snare wires will produce a crisp, sharp sound, similar to a snare drum.
• Tone Slap: Strike the upper corners of the playing surface with your fingers slightly cupped. This technique produces a higher-pitched, cutting sound.
• Muting: Experiment with resting your hand lightly on different parts of the tapa while striking to achieve various muted effects and control sustain.

Maintenance
