Setup
Charging the Device
Before first use, fully charge the Sony SBH50. Connect the EC300 charger cable to the device's charging port and plug the other end into a compatible USB power source. The OLED display will indicate charging status. A full charge provides up to 8 hours of talk/stream time and up to 400 hours of standby time.
Pairing with a Device (Bluetooth)
- Ensure the SBH50 is charged and powered on.
- Activate Bluetooth on your smartphone or other compatible device.
- On the SBH50, press and hold the power button until the Bluetooth pairing indicator flashes or "Pairing" appears on the OLED display.
- On your device, search for available Bluetooth devices and select "SBH50" from the list.
- If prompted, enter the passcode (usually "0000" or "1234").
- Once paired, the SBH50 will indicate a successful connection.
One-Touch Pairing (NFC)
For devices with NFC (Near Field Communication) capability, pairing is simplified:
- Ensure NFC is enabled on your smartphone and the SBH50 is powered on.
- Touch your NFC-enabled smartphone to the NFC detection area on the SBH50.
- Follow the on-screen prompts on your smartphone to confirm pairing.
- If the devices disconnect, simply touch them together again to re-establish the connection.

Basic Controls and Display
The SBH50 features an OLED display (128 x 36 pixels) and intuitive buttons for control. The display shows caller ID, track information, notifications, and FM radio details.

Call Handling
When a call comes in, the caller ID will be displayed on the OLED screen. Press the Call button to answer or end a call. The built-in microphone ensures clear communication.
FM Radio Function
The SBH50 features an integrated FM radio tuner. To activate, navigate to the FM radio mode using the headset's controls. You can scan for stations and view frequency information on the OLED display. The connected headphones act as the antenna for the FM radio.
Smartphone Application Extensions
For enhanced functionality, download compatible application extensions from Google Play. These extensions allow you to browse call logs, read text notifications, and messages directly on the SBH50's OLED display, reducing the need to frequently check your phone.
