The Tier1 RWF1100 refrigerator water filter is designed to provide clean, fresh-tasting water and ice by reducing common impurities. This filter utilizes an activated carbon block to effectively remove chlorine taste and odor, rust, sediment, and turbidity from your water supply. Installation Instructions

Follow these steps to properly install your new Tier1 RWF1100 refrigerator water filter. No special tools are required for installation.

Step 1: Locate the Filter Compartment

Identify the water filter compartment within your refrigerator. This is typically located in the upper right corner of the fresh food compartment or in the base grille.

Step 2: Remove the Old Filter

Gently push the tab or turn the old filter counter-clockwise (depending on your refrigerator model) to release it from its housing. Some water may drip out, so have a towel ready.

Step 3: Install the New Filter

Align the new Tier1 RWF1100 filter with the filter housing. Push the filter firmly into the compartment and turn it clockwise until it locks into place. Ensure a secure fit to prevent leaks.

Step 4: Flush the System

After installation, dispense approximately 2-3 gallons of water through the refrigerator's water dispenser to flush out any air or carbon fines from the new filter. This will ensure optimal water quality.

Step 5: Reset the Filter Indicator Light

Most refrigerators have a filter indicator light. Refer to your refrigerator's user manual for specific instructions on how to reset this light after replacing the filter. This typically involves pressing and holding a specific button for a few seconds.

Operating Principle

The Tier1 RWF1100 filter operates using an activated carbon block filtration media. As water flows through the filter, impurities are trapped within the porous carbon structure, allowing only clean water to pass through.

Maintenance

For optimal performance and water quality, it is recommended to replace your Tier1 RWF1100 refrigerator water filter every 6 months or after filtering 300 gallons of water, whichever comes first. A sticker is included with the filter to help you track the installation date and next replacement date.

Troubleshooting

  • Slow Water Flow: If water flow from the dispenser is slow, ensure the filter is correctly seated and locked into place. A new filter might also have some air trapped, which should clear after flushing a few gallons of water. If the filter is old, it may be clogged and require replacement.
  • Water Taste/Odor: If water still has an undesirable taste or odor after replacement, ensure the filter was flushed thoroughly. If the issue persists, verify that the filter is the correct model for your refrigerator and that it is properly installed.
  • Leaking: Check that the filter is fully inserted and twisted clockwise until it is snug. Ensure the O-rings on the filter are not damaged or missing. If leaking continues, remove and re-install the filter carefully.
