4.1 General Care
- Keep the guide rail clean and free of debris.
- Wipe the exterior of the drive head with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Ensure the safety sensors (if installed) are clean and properly aligned.
4.2 Annual Inspection
It is advisable to perform an annual inspection of your garage door system, including the opener. Check for any unusual noises, excessive vibration, or signs of wear on moving parts. Consult a qualified technician if you notice any significant issues.
5. Troubleshooting
If your Chamberlain Comfort ML700EV is not functioning as expected, consider the following common issues:
5.1 Opener Not Responding
- Check Power: Ensure the opener is plugged into a working electrical outlet and that the circuit breaker has not tripped.
- Remote Battery: Replace the battery in your hand transmitter if it is not activating the opener. The transmitters use CR2 batteries.
- Safety Sensors: Verify that the safety sensors at the bottom of the garage door opening are clear of obstructions and properly aligned. A blinking light on the sensor usually indicates an issue.
5.2 Door Not Closing Fully
- Obstruction: Check for any objects in the path of the garage door.
- Force Settings: The opener may need its force settings adjusted. Refer to the detailed assembly instructions for programming steps.
