4. Preparation and Setup

Proper preparation is crucial for best results. Ensure the item to be dyed is clean and dry.

  1. Clean the Surface: Thoroughly clean the leather or canvas item to remove any dirt, grease, or old finishes. A dedicated leather cleaner or rubbing alcohol can be used. Allow the item to dry completely.
  2. Protect Your Workspace: Lay down newspapers or a protective sheet to cover your work area. Wear gloves to protect your hands.
  3. Shake the Bottle: Shake the TRG Easy Dye bottle vigorously for at least 30 seconds to ensure the pigment is well mixed.
  4. Test Application: Apply a small amount of dye to an inconspicuous area of the item to check the color and how the material absorbs it. Allow it to dry to see the final result.

5. Operating Instructions (Dye Application)

Follow these steps for effective application of TRG Easy Dye:

  1. First Coat: Dip the provided sponge into the dye. Apply a thin, even coat to the surface of the item using circular motions. Ensure complete coverage.
  2. Drying Time: Allow the first coat to dry completely. This typically takes 1-2 hours, depending on humidity and temperature. The surface should feel dry to the touch.
  3. Second Coat (Optional): For a deeper color or to cover stubborn areas, apply a second thin, even coat. Repeat the drying process.
  4. Final Drying: After the final coat, allow the item to dry for at least 24 hours before use to ensure the dye is fully cured and set.
