Setup
Battery Installation:
- Locate the battery compartment on the side of the microscope body.
- If batteries are not pre-installed, open the compartment.
- Insert 3 x LR1130 button cell batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment securely.
Note: The microscope may come with batteries pre-installed. If the LED lights do not function, please check or replace the batteries.
Operating Instructions
1. Powering On/Off the LED Lights:
- Locate the On/Off switch on the side of the microscope body.
- Slide the switch to the first position for the bright white LED light.
- Slide the switch to the second position for the blue LED (UV) light.
- Slide the switch back to the 'Off' position when not in use to conserve battery life.
2. Focusing the Microscope:
- Place the object you wish to examine on a flat, well-lit surface.
- Position the microscope's objective lens directly over the object. The clear lens guard should be close to or lightly touching the object.
- Look through the eyepiece.
- Adjust the focus by sliding the lens section up or down relative to the transparent shroud, or by slowly moving the entire microscope closer to or further from the object until the image appears clear and sharp.
- You can also adjust the angle of the optical barrel relative to the battery barrel to optimize illumination and viewing angle.
3. Using the Blue LED (UV Light):
The blue LED is specifically designed for examining security features on banknotes, passports, or other documents that react to UV light, as well as for inspecting hallmarks on jewelry. Activate the blue LED by sliding the power switch to its second position.
Maintenance
- Cleaning the Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth or a lens cleaning wipe to gently clean the objective lens and eyepiece. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
- Storage: When not in use, store the microscope in its protective case to prevent dust accumulation and scratches. Keep it in a dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Care: If the microscope will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and potential damage to the device.
Troubleshooting
