Setup and Installation
1. Unpacking
Carefully remove the air purifier from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage during transit. Retain packaging materials for potential future transport or returns.
2. Placement
Place the air purifier on a flat, stable surface. For optimal performance, position the unit in an open area, away from walls or furniture that might obstruct airflow. Ensure there is at least 6 inches of clearance around all sides of the unit.

3. Power Connection
Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet. The unit operates on 115 volts and consumes 115 watts.
Operation
1. Power On/Off
To turn the unit on, rotate the control knob located on the top panel clockwise from the "OFF" position. To turn it off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise to "OFF".
2. Fan Speed Settings
The control knob allows you to select from three fan speed settings: Low, Medium, and High. Rotate the knob to your desired setting.
- Low: Ideal for quiet operation and continuous background air purification in smaller spaces or during sleep.
- Medium: Suitable for general daily use in average-sized rooms.
- High: Provides maximum air purification for larger areas or when rapid air cleaning is required, such as during periods of high pollution or strong odors. Note that the unit will be louder on this setting.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your air purifier.
1. Exterior Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth as needed. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.
2. Filter Replacement
The Austin Air Healthmate Plus filter system is designed for long-term use, typically lasting up to 5 years under normal residential conditions. Filter life can vary based on usage and air quality. There are no indicator lights for filter replacement; replacement is based on the recommended lifespan or noticeable decrease in performance/increase in odors.
To replace the filter:
- Unplug the air purifier from the power outlet.
- Carefully turn the unit upside down.
- Remove the four screws securing the bottom plate.
- Lift off the bottom plate.
- Remove the old filter cartridge.
- Insert the new filter cartridge, ensuring it is seated correctly.
- Replace the bottom plate and secure it with the four screws.
- Return the unit to its upright position and plug it back in.
Replacement filters can be purchased from authorized Austin Air retailers or the official Austin Air website.
Troubleshooting
