1. Introduction

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

The Porter engine requires one (1) AA battery for operation. Follow these steps to install the battery:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the engine.
  2. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, unscrew the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert one (1) fresh AA battery, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals are correctly oriented as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.

Note: Always use new batteries of the same type. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.

3.2 Connecting Cargo Cars

The cargo cars attach to the engine and to each other using plastic hooks and loops. To connect:

  1. Align the hook of one car with the loop of another car or the engine.
  2. Gently push them together until they click securely into place.
  3. To detach, gently pull the cars apart.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

To start the engine, locate the ON/OFF switch on the top of the engine. Slide the switch to the 'ON' position. The engine will begin to move. To stop the engine, slide the switch back to the 'OFF' position.

4.2 Track Compatibility

The TrackMaster Porter engine is designed to run on all Fisher-Price TrackMaster track sets. Ensure the track pieces are securely connected to prevent the engine from derailing. Place the engine on the track, ensuring its wheels are properly seated in the grooves, before turning it on.
