6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and hygiene of your appliance.
- Before Cleaning: Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely.
- Kettle and Teapot: The glass kettle and teapot, including the stainless steel tea filter, are dishwasher safe. For manual cleaning, use warm soapy water and a soft sponge. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Base Station: Wipe the base station and heating plate with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the base in water. The non-stick coating on the heating plate makes cleaning easier.
- Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up, especially in hard water areas. Descale the kettle regularly (e.g., monthly) using a commercial descaling solution or a mixture of water and white vinegar. Follow the descaler's instructions or boil the vinegar solution, let it sit, then rinse thoroughly several times. The kettle has an anti-calc filter that should also be cleaned.
- Storage: When not in use, store the clean and dry appliance in a cool, dry place.
