1. Introduction

2. Setup

2.1 Unpacking and Initial Placement

  1. Carefully remove the printer from its packaging.
  2. Remove all protective tapes and packing materials from the printer.
  3. Place the printer on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation.

2.2 Connecting Power

  • Connect the power cord to the printer and then to a grounded electrical outlet.
  • Press the power button to turn on the printer.

2.3 Toner Cartridge Installation

  1. Open the front cover of the printer.
  2. Remove the toner cartridge from its packaging and gently shake it side to side to distribute the toner.
  3. Insert the toner cartridge into the printer until it clicks into place.
  4. Close the front cover.

2.4 Software Installation and Connectivity

  • Insert the provided installation CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive, or download the latest drivers from the Samsung support website.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer software.
  • For wireless setup, follow the prompts to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network. The printer supports NFC for easy pairing with compatible devices.

3.1 Printing Documents

  1. Ensure the printer is powered on and connected to your computer or network.
  2. Load paper into the input tray.
  3. From your computer, open the document you wish to print.
  4. Select Print from the application's menu (e.g., File > Print).
  5. Choose the Samsung Xpress SL-M2070FW from the list of available printers.

3.2 Copying Documents

  2. From your computer, open the Samsung Easy Document Creator software or a similar scanning application.
  3. Select Scan and choose your desired settings (e.g., resolution, color mode, destination).
  4. Click Scan to initiate the process.

3.4 Sending Faxes

  1. Load the document into the ADF or place it on the scanner glass.
  2. On the printer's control panel, press the Fax button.
  3. Enter the recipient's fax number using the numeric keypad.
  4. Adjust fax settings if necessary.
  5. Press the Start button to send the fax.

3.5 Wireless Printing (NFC, Wi-Fi Direct, Google Cloud Print)

  • NFC: Tap your NFC-enabled smartphone or tablet to the NFC tag on the printer to establish a direct connection and print.
  • Wi-Fi Direct: Connect your mobile device directly to the printer's Wi-Fi Direct network without needing a router.
  • Google Cloud Print: Register your printer with Google Cloud Print to print from anywhere using your Google account. Refer to the online manual for detailed registration steps.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Replacing the Toner Cartridge

  1. When the toner low message appears on the display, order a new toner cartridge.
  2. Open the front cover of the printer.
  3. Carefully pull out the old toner cartridge.
  4. Unpack the new toner cartridge and shake it gently.
  5. Insert the new cartridge until it locks into place.
  6. Close the front cover.

4.2 Cleaning the Printer

  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the printer with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Scanner Glass: Gently clean the scanner glass with a soft cloth dampened with glass cleaner. Ensure no residue remains.
  • Interior: Periodically open the front cover and gently remove any paper dust or debris with a dry, lint-free cloth.
