Systor SYS-SD-15 SD/microSD Card Duplicator Instruction Manual

Model: SYS-SD-15

1. Product Overview

The Systor SYS-SD-15 is a standalone SD/microSD card duplicator designed for efficient, bit-by-bit copying, erasing, and sanitizing of multiple memory cards. This unit operates independently without the need for a computer or additional software, offering a user-friendly interface for various duplication tasks.

The duplicator features a master slot and 15 target slots, supporting both standard SD and microSD cards. Each slot operates independently, allowing for consistent copy speeds regardless of the number of cards being processed.

  • Source Slot (Master): The top slot where the original SD/microSD card with data to be copied is inserted.
  • Target Slots: The 15 slots below the source slot where blank SD/microSD cards are inserted for duplication.
  • ENT Button: Used to confirm selections and proceed with operations.
  • ESC Button: Used to cancel operations or return to the previous menu.
  • LED Indicators: Each slot has an LED indicator. A green light signifies a successful operation (e.g., successful copy), while a red light indicates a failure.

3.2. Inserting and Removing Cards

Gently insert SD or microSD cards into their respective slots until they click into place. For microSD cards, ensure they are inserted into the correct smaller slot within the larger SD slot. To remove, press the card inward slightly until it springs out.

3.3. Copy Modes

The duplicator supports different copy modes to suit various needs. These modes are compatible with SD, SDHC, Micro SD, Micro SDHC, and SDXC cards, and support FAT16/32, NTFS, and Linux (EXT2/EXT3/EXT4) formats.

Figure 5: Display options for Copy Modes and Erase Modes.

  • System and Files Copy: This mode copies only the data content from the master source SD card, excluding any unoccupied drive space. This can be faster for cards that are not full.
  • Whole Media Copy: This mode copies the entire content of the master source SD card, including any unoccupied drive space. This ensures an exact bit-by-bit replica of the source card.

The duplicator also supports Synchronous and Asynchronous copy modes. Asynchronous mode allows continuous copying without interruption, as each channel can independently load, unload, and copy.

3.4. Erase Modes

To ensure data security and prepare cards for new content, the duplicator offers two erase modes:

  • Quick Erase: This mode erases the data content of the target SD card(s) but does not erase the format of the drives.
  • Full Erase: This mode erases both the data content and the format of the target SD card(s), providing a more thorough data wipe.

For enhanced data security, the duplicator can perform a DoD (Department of Defense) compliant erase, which securely wipes data content.

4. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Systor SYS-SD-15 duplicator.

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the device.
  • Slot Care: Keep the card slots free of dust and debris. Use compressed air if necessary, but avoid inserting any objects into the slots.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the duplicator in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website periodically for any available firmware updates. Follow the provided instructions carefully for any update procedures.
