Loading Memory Protection Batteries

- Lift and remove the printer cover.
- Remove the take-up reel.
- Remove the battery compartment cover, and load two new "AA" batteries into the battery compartment. Confirm the (+) and (-) marks, and load them with the correct orientation.
- Put the battery compartment cover back on. Close the cover firmly in place until a "click" sound.
Installing Paper Roll

- Lift this section and open the platen arm.
- Insert the roll while ensuring the paper is being fed from the bottom of the roll.
- Pull the leading edge of the paper out, and close the platen arm until it locks securely.
- Cut the excess paper to finish.
Turning the Cash Register On
This video guides you through the initial power-on sequence (starts at 1:20), including inserting the PGM key and plugging in the power cord. A successful power-on will display the initial setup screen.
- First, insert the key labeled "PGM". Ensure that the key is set to the OFF position at this time.
- Plug the power socket into the power outlet. (Note: The plug shape may differ depending on the country.)
- The operation is complete if the display comes on and the printer functions.
Basic Operations
Language Selection

- For English, press [ 0 ] followed by the [ CA ] key. This concludes the language setting operation.
- For French: [ 1 ] → [ CA ]
- For Spanish: [ 2 ] → [ CA ]
- For the North America model, only English and Spanish are available.
Setting Date and Time
This video explains how to set the current date and time on the cash register (starts at 2:14). Accurate date and time are essential for proper transaction logging and reporting.
- Input in order of 1) day, 2) month, and 3) year. For example, March 28 2014 is [ 03 ] [ 28 ] [ 14 ]. For the North America, input in order of 1) month, 2) day, and 3) year.
- Enter the current time using the 24 hour system. For example, 13:30 is [ 13 ] [ 30 ].
Using the Paper Roll as a Journal
This video shows how to configure the cash register to use the paper roll as a journal (starts at 2:55), which records all transactions. This operation is unnecessary if using as a receipt.
- Set the key to register mode "REG". Use the PGM key.
- Press the [ Feed ] key and pull about 15cm worth of paper out.
- Slide the leading edge of the paper into the groove on the spindle and wind it on.
- Tighten to reduce any slack.
- Close the printer cover to finish.
Setting the Tax Rate
This video demonstrates how to set tax rates for different departments (starts at 3:50). Note that the tax rate setting explained here uses the SE-G1 model, which may differ slightly from North American models. Refer to your manual for specific North American model settings.
- Turn the key and set the Mode to "PGM". Use the PGM key.
- Press the [ TAX PGM ] key.
- Let's now set the tax rate. For example, let's set department number 2 as 5.5%, and department 3 as 7%. Press keys [ 5 ] [ . ] [ 5 ] and the white department key [ 2 ]. Then press [ 7 ] and department key [ 3 ].
- Simply repeat this procedure for additional settings.
- Once each department has been set, press the [ SUB TOTAL ] key. This concludes the tax rate operation.
North American Model Tax Rate Setting
This video provides specific instructions for setting tax rates on North American models of the Casio cash register (starts at 4:48).
- Turn the Mode switch to PGM position.
- Enter 3 then press SUB TOTAL key for setting the register in the program mode.
- Enter 0 0 2 5 then press SUB TOTAL to set the register in the tax program mode.
- Referring the tax table on page E-12 of the User's Manual, enter the tax table number for Tax table 1 then press CA/AMT TEND key. For example, to set Alabama 4% state and local tax, enter 0 1 0 1 CA/AMT TEND. Different rates apply for each state. See the manual for detailed settings.
- If necessary, repeat the step 4 for Tax table 2.
- Press SUB TOTAL key to complete the settings.
