Setup and Installation
Before beginning installation, ensure the power supply is disconnected. This timer is designed for indoor mounting only.
- Mounting: Select a suitable indoor location near a standard 120V AC outlet and away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. Use appropriate screws to secure the timer to the wall.
- Wiring Valves: Connect the common wire from your irrigation valves to the terminal labeled 'COMMON' on the timer. Connect each zone valve wire to its corresponding zone terminal (e.g., Zone 1 valve to Zone 1 terminal, Zone 2 valve to Zone 2 terminal, etc.). The SST600IN supports up to 6 zones.
- Power Connection: Plug the timer's power cord into a standard 120V AC outlet. The display should illuminate.
- Initial Power-Up: Upon first power-up, the timer may prompt you to set the current time and date.

2. Programming Watering Schedule (Per Zone)
This timer allows you to program each zone independently.
- Turn the dial to the desired ZONE (e.g., ZONE 1).
- Set Start Times: The display will show 'Start Time'. Use the Up/Down arrows to set the first start time. To add more start times (up to four), press the right arrow button and repeat the process. To remove a start time, adjust it to 'OFF'.
- Set Duration: The display will show 'Duration'. Use the Up/Down arrows to set the watering duration for this zone in minutes.

6. Turning Off the System
- To completely stop all automatic and manual watering, turn the dial to OFF.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the timer's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Power Supply: Ensure the power outlet is stable and free from fluctuations. The timer has superior surge protection, but extreme surges can still cause damage.
- Winterization: In regions with freezing temperatures, it is recommended to disconnect the timer and drain your irrigation system to prevent damage from freezing water.
Troubleshooting
- Display is Blank: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Verify the outlet has power.
- Zones Not Watering:
- Ensure the dial is set to AUTO RUN.
- Check if a RAIN DELAY is active.
- Verify that the specific zone is not set to ZONE OFF in its programming.
- Inspect wiring connections to the valves and common terminal.
- Check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses in your electrical panel.
- Incorrect Watering Times/Days: Re-enter the SET CLOCK and SET DATE settings. Review the programming for each zone carefully, ensuring start times, durations, and watering days are correctly selected.
- Valve Fault Protection: If a valve fault is detected, the timer may display an error message or skip the affected zone. Inspect the wiring and the valve itself for issues.
