Setup Instructions
- Unpacking and Inspection: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any damage. Ensure all parts listed in the packing list are present before proceeding.
- Placement: Position the filter system on a firm, level surface, close to the pool and a suitable power source. Ensure it is protected from direct sunlight and extreme weather conditions. Allow sufficient space around the unit for maintenance.
- Filling the Filter Tank: Unscrew the top valve assembly. Carefully fill the tank with the appropriate filter media (filter sand or filter balls) up to the recommended level, typically indicated inside the tank. Do not overfill. Ensure the central pipe is correctly positioned and protected from media entering it during filling.

- Assembling the 7-Way Valve: Carefully place the 7-way valve onto the tank, ensuring it aligns correctly with the central pipe. Secure it firmly with the tension ring.
- Connecting Hoses: Connect the pool's skimmer/suction line to the 'PUMP' port, the return line to the 'RETURN' port, and a waste hose to the 'WASTE' port. Use hose clamps to secure all connections tightly. Apply PTFE tape to threaded connections to prevent leaks.

- Electrical Connection: Connect the pump to a suitable, grounded power outlet. Ensure the power supply (230V) matches the pump's specifications (400W). Do not use extension cords unless specifically rated for outdoor use and the pump's power requirements.
- Initial Priming: Before starting the pump, ensure the filter tank is completely filled with water. Set the 7-way valve to 'BACKWASH' and run the pump for 1-2 minutes until clear water flows from the waste port. Then, turn off the pump, set the valve to 'RINSE' for 30-60 seconds. Turn off the pump again, and finally set the valve to 'FILTER' for normal operation. This process removes air from the system and settles the filter media.
Operating Instructions
The 7-way valve allows for different operational modes to manage your pool water. Always turn off the pump before changing valve settings to prevent damage to the valve and system.

Image: Detailed view of the 7-way top-mount valve with labels for each function: Backwash, Rinse, Filter, Circulation, Waste, Closed, Winterize.
- FILTER: This is the standard filtration mode. Water is pumped through the filter media, where impurities are trapped, and then returned to the pool. Use this setting for daily pool cleaning.
- BACKWASH: This mode cleans the filter media. Water flows in reverse through the filter, dislodging trapped dirt and debris, which is then expelled out the waste port. Perform backwashing when the pressure gauge reads 0.2-0.3 bar above the clean operating pressure or when water flow is noticeably reduced.
- RINSE: Used immediately after backwashing. This mode flushes out any remaining dirt from the filter media and helps to settle the sand bed. Water flows out the waste port. Run for 30-60 seconds until the water runs clear.
- CIRCULATE: In this mode, water bypasses the filter media and is circulated directly back to the pool. This setting is useful for distributing pool chemicals quickly without filtering the water.
- WASTE (DRAIN): This setting drains water directly from the pool out the waste port, bypassing the filter. Use it for lowering the pool water level or for vacuuming heavy debris directly to waste.
- CLOSED: This position shuts off all flow to the filter and pump. Use this setting when performing maintenance on the pump or filter, or when the system is not in use for an extended period.
- WINTERIZE: This mode prepares the filter for winter storage. It typically allows for draining the system and positioning the valve to prevent damage from freezing. Consult specific winterization guidelines for your region.
Maintenance
- Regular Backwashing: Monitor the pressure gauge regularly. When the pressure rises 0.2-0.3 bar above the clean operating pressure (the pressure reading when the filter is clean), it indicates that the filter media is dirty and needs backwashing. Follow the 'BACKWASH' and 'RINSE' procedures described in the Operating Instructions.
- Filter Media Replacement: Filter sand typically needs replacement every 3-5 years, depending on usage and water quality. If using filter balls, they generally require replacement annually. Refer to the media manufacturer's recommendations.
- Pump Basket Cleaning: Regularly check and clean the pump's pre-filter basket to remove large debris that could impede flow and damage the pump. Ensure the pump is off before opening the basket.
- Winterization: Before freezing temperatures arrive, it is crucial to properly winterize your filter system. Drain all water from the pump, filter tank, and hoses. Store the pump and valve in a dry, frost-free location. The tank can remain outdoors if completely drained and protected from elements.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Low Water Flow | Clogged skimmer/pump basket; dirty filter media; air in system; blocked hoses. | Clean skimmer/pump basket. Backwash and rinse the filter. Bleed air from the system. Check and clear hose blockages. |
| Cloudy Pool Water | Insufficient filtration time; dirty filter media; improper chemical balance; worn filter media. | Increase filtration time. Backwash and rinse the filter. Test and adjust pool chemicals. Consider replacing filter media if old. |
| Water Leaks | Loose hose clamps/connections; damaged O-rings/gaskets; insufficient PTFE tape on threaded fittings. | Tighten all hose clamps and connections. Inspect and replace damaged O-rings/gaskets. Apply additional PTFE tape to threaded fittings. |
| Pump Not Starting | No power; tripped circuit breaker; motor issue; pump not primed. | Check power connection and circuit breaker. Ensure pump is primed with water. If issues persist, contact support. |
