Important Safeguards

To ensure safe operation and prevent injury or damage, please read and follow these important safeguards:

  • Read all instructions thoroughly before using the appliance.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Always use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plugs, or the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug the rice cooker from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow it to cool completely before adding or removing parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  • Do not use the appliance outdoors.
  • Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • Always attach the plug to the appliance first, then plug the cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
  • Do not use the appliance for purposes other than its intended use.
  • This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

Before First Use

Before using your new rice cooker for the first time, please follow these steps:

  1. Carefully unpack all components and remove any packaging materials.
  2. Wash the inner pot, glass lid, steam tray, rice measuring cup, and serving spoon thoroughly with warm, soapy water. Rinse well and dry completely.
  3. Wipe the exterior of the main rice cooker unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  4. Ensure all parts are dry before assembly and use.

Operating Instructions

Cooking Rice

  1. Measure the desired amount of uncooked rice using the provided measuring cup. The cooker can prepare 2 to 6 cups of uncooked rice, yielding up to 12 cups of cooked rice.
  2. Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear.
  3. Place the rinsed rice into the nonstick aluminum inner pot.
  4. Add the appropriate amount of water according to the rice type and desired consistency. Refer to the markings inside the inner pot or the instruction manual for precise water-to-rice ratios.
  5. Place the inner pot into the main rice cooker unit. Ensure it is seated properly.
  6. Cover the inner pot with the glass lid.
  7. Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.
  8. Press the "COOK" switch down. The "COOK" indicator light will illuminate.
  9. Once the rice is cooked, the cooker will automatically switch to the "WARM" mode, and the "WARM" indicator light will illuminate. A bell tone will signal when cooking is complete.
  10. Allow the rice to rest in "WARM" mode for 5-10 minutes before serving for optimal texture.

Steaming Food

The included steam tray allows you to steam vegetables, fish, and other foods while your rice cooks or independently.

  1. Add approximately 1-2 cups of water to the inner pot.
  2. Place the steam tray inside the inner pot.
  3. Arrange your food (e.g., chopped vegetables, fish fillets) on the steam tray.
  4. Cover with the glass lid.
  5. Press the "COOK" switch down.
  6. Monitor the food and cook until desired tenderness is reached.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper care and cleaning will extend the life of your rice cooker.

  • Always unplug the rice cooker from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • The nonstick aluminum inner pot is dishwasher safe. For best results and to preserve its appearance, hand washing with mild dish soap and a soft sponge is recommended. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that could damage the nonstick coating.
  • The glass lid, steam tray, measuring cup, and serving spoon can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher.
  • Wipe the exterior of the main rice cooker unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  • Ensure all parts are completely dry before storing the appliance.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your rice cooker, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
