4. Setup

4.1 Initial Placement

Place the soundbar directly in front of your TV, centered for optimal sound dispersion. The wireless subwoofer can be placed anywhere in the room, ideally within 30 feet of the soundbar, as long as it has access to a power outlet.

4.2 Connecting the Wireless Subwoofer

  1. Plug the subwoofer's power cord into a wall outlet.
  2. Plug the soundbar's power cord into a wall outlet.
  3. The subwoofer and soundbar should automatically pair. A blue indicator light on top of the subwoofer confirms a successful connection. If not, refer to the troubleshooting section for manual pairing instructions.

4.3 Connecting to Your TV or Devices

The HW-F450 offers multiple connection options:

  • HDMI (ARC): Connect an HDMI cable from the soundbar's HDMI OUT (ARC) port to your TV's HDMI IN (ARC) port. This allows audio to be sent from the TV to the soundbar and enables TV remote control of the soundbar volume on compatible TVs.
  • Optical Digital Audio: Connect an optical cable from the soundbar's OPTICAL IN port to your TV's optical digital audio output. This provides high-quality digital audio. Note that volume control via TV remote may not be possible with this connection.
  • Bluetooth (SoundShare): For compatible Samsung TVs, you can connect wirelessly using Samsung SoundShare. Activate SoundShare on your TV and follow the on-screen prompts to pair with the soundbar.
  • Auxiliary (Analog): Use a 3.5mm audio cable to connect the soundbar's AUX IN port to the audio output of your TV or other audio device.
  • USB: The soundbar features a USB port for playing audio files directly from a USB storage device.

4.4 Wall Mounting (Optional)

The included wall-mount bracket allows you to mount the soundbar below your TV. Refer to the detailed wall-mounting template and instructions provided in the separate wall-mount guide for proper installation.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Press the Power button on the soundbar or the remote control to turn the unit on or off. If connected via HDMI ARC or SoundShare, the soundbar may power on/off automatically with your TV.

5.2 Input Selection

Press the Source button on the soundbar or remote control to cycle through available input sources (e.g., D.IN (Optical), HDMI, AUX, BT (Bluetooth), USB).

5.3 Volume Control

Use the Volume Up (+) and Volume Down (-) buttons on the soundbar or remote control to adjust the master volume. The subwoofer volume can be adjusted separately using the remote control.

5.4 Sound Modes

The soundbar offers various sound modes to optimize your listening experience:

  • Standard: Default sound setting.
  • Music: Optimized for music playback.
  • Movie: Enhances cinematic audio with simulated surround sound.
  • Sports: Tailored for sports broadcasts.
  • Voice: Emphasizes dialogue clarity.

Press the Sound Mode button on the remote to cycle through these options.

5.5 Bluetooth Audio Playback

To stream audio from a Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, tablet, MP3 player):

  1. Select the 'BT' (Bluetooth) input on the soundbar.
  2. On your device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select 'Samsung HW-F450' from the list.
  4. Once paired, audio from your device will play through the soundbar.

6. Maintenance

  • Ventilation: Ensure proper ventilation around the units to prevent overheating. Do not block any ventilation openings.

  • Power: Disconnect the power cords from the wall outlet if the unit will not be used for an extended period.
