3. Setup and Assembly
3.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Check for any damage during transit. Ensure all parts listed in the manual are present. Keep packaging materials for future storage or transport.
3.2 Assembly Instructions
- Assemble the Shaft: Connect the two sections of the shaft, ensuring they click securely into place. Tighten any locking mechanisms.
- Attach the Handle: Mount the control handle onto the shaft at a comfortable operating position. Secure it firmly with the provided bolts and tools. Refer to Figure 2.3 for handle orientation.
- Install the Protective Guard: Attach the protective guard to the lower part of the shaft, above where the cutting attachment will be. This guard is crucial for operator safety.
- Select and Install Cutting Attachment:
- For Line Trimmer: Attach the bump-feed nylon line head. Ensure it is securely fastened. (Refer to Figure 2.4)
- For Brush Cutter: Attach the 3T steel alloy blade. Ensure the blade is correctly oriented and securely tightened with the provided hardware. (Refer to Figure 2.5)
- Prepare Fuel Mixture: The Airus-620 uses a 2-stroke gasoline engine. Mix unleaded gasoline with high-quality 2-stroke engine oil according to the manufacturer's recommended ratio (typically 25:1 or 50:1, check engine label). Use the included fuel mixture bottle for accurate measurement.
4. Operation
4.1 Fueling
Before fueling, ensure the engine is off and cool. Fill the fuel tank with the pre-mixed gasoline/oil mixture. Do not overfill. Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately.
4.2 Starting the Engine
- Place the machine on a flat, stable surface.
- Set the ignition switch to the 'ON' position.
- Engage the choke (if the engine is cold).
- Press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible in the return line.
- Pull the starter cord firmly and steadily until the engine starts. Do not pull the cord to its full extension.
- Once the engine starts, gradually disengage the choke. Allow the engine to warm up for a few moments before beginning work.
4.3 Cutting Attachments Usage
- Nylon Line Head: Ideal for trimming grass around obstacles, along fences, and for general lawn edging. To extend the line, lightly tap the head on the ground while the engine is running at full throttle.
- 3T Steel Alloy Blade: Use for cutting thicker weeds, brush, and small saplings. Always ensure the area is clear of hard objects that could damage the blade or be thrown.
4.4 Usage Tips
- Maintain a firm grip on the handles with both hands.
- Keep the cutting attachment parallel to the ground for even cutting.
- Work in a sweeping motion, moving from right to left for optimal cutting.
- Avoid hitting hard objects like rocks, concrete, or metal.
- Take regular breaks to prevent fatigue.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Airus-620. Always turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire before performing any maintenance.
5.1 Cleaning
After each use, clean the exterior of the machine, especially the engine cooling fins and the cutting head area, to remove grass, dirt, and debris. Use a dry cloth or soft brush. Do not use water directly on the engine.
5.2 Spark Plug
Inspect the spark plug every 25 hours of operation or annually. Clean or replace if it is fouled or worn. Ensure the correct gap is maintained.
5.3 Air Filter
Clean the air filter regularly (every 10-15 hours of operation or more frequently in dusty conditions). Remove the filter, clean it with warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to dry completely before reinstallation. Replace if damaged.
5.4 Fuel Filter
Check the fuel filter inside the fuel tank periodically. Replace if it appears clogged or dirty to ensure proper fuel flow to the carburetor.
5.5 Blade/Line Head Care
- Blade: Sharpen the blade regularly or replace it if it becomes dull, bent, or cracked. A dull blade can cause excessive vibration and poor cutting performance.
- Line Head: Replace the nylon line when it runs out. Inspect the line head for cracks or damage and replace if necessary.
5.6 Storage
For long-term storage, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor of fuel. Clean the machine thoroughly. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
