3. Setup and Assembly

3.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Ensure all parts listed in the packing list are present. If any parts are missing or damaged, contact customer support immediately.

3.2 Bar and Chain Assembly

  1. Remove the chain brake cover by unscrewing the two nuts.
  2. Place the guide bar onto the studs, ensuring the chain tensioner pin fits into the hole on the bar.
  3. Carefully fit the chain around the drive sprocket and into the groove of the guide bar. Ensure the cutting edges of the chain are facing the correct direction (refer to the arrow on the chain brake cover or bar).
  4. Replace the chain brake cover and hand-tighten the nuts. Do not fully tighten yet.
  5. Adjust chain tension using the tensioning screw. The chain should be snug against the bar but still able to be pulled freely by hand. There should be no slack on the underside of the bar.
  6. Once tension is correct, fully tighten the two nuts securely.

3.3 Fuel and Chain Oil

This chainsaw uses a 2-stroke engine and requires a specific fuel mixture and chain lubricant.

  • Fuel Mixture: Mix unleaded petrol with high-quality 2-stroke engine oil at a ratio of 25:1 (Petrol:Oil). Use a dedicated fuel mixing container.
  • Chain Oil: Fill the chain oil reservoir with good quality chain lubricant. Never use waste oil.

Always refuel in a well-ventilated area, away from ignition sources, and with the engine off and cool. Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Starting the Chainsaw (Cold Engine)

  1. Place the chainsaw on a firm, flat surface. Ensure the chain brake is engaged (pushed forward).
  2. Press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible.
  3. Pull the choke lever out fully.
  4. Set the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
  5. Hold the chainsaw firmly with one hand on the front handle and place your foot on the rear handle.
  6. Pull the starter cord slowly until resistance is felt, then pull sharply until the engine fires (usually a few pulls).
  7. As soon as the engine fires, push the choke lever halfway in.
  8. Pull the starter cord again until the engine starts and runs.
  9. Once the engine is running, push the choke lever fully in. Allow the engine to warm up for a few moments before disengaging the chain brake and beginning work.

4.2 Starting the Chainsaw (Warm Engine)

For a warm engine, the choke may not be necessary. Follow steps 1, 4, 5, and 6 from the cold start procedure. If the engine does not start after a few pulls, try pulling the choke halfway out.

4.3 Cutting Techniques and Safety

  • Always maintain a balanced stance and firm grip.
  • Avoid cutting with the tip of the guide bar to prevent kickback.
  • Be aware of falling branches and logs. Plan your cuts and escape routes.
  • Never cut above shoulder height.
  • Do not operate the chainsaw in adverse weather conditions (e.g., heavy rain, strong winds).

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of your chainsaw.

5.1 Daily Maintenance

  • Clean the Chainsaw: Remove sawdust, chips, and debris from the engine housing, cooling fins, and chain brake mechanism.
  • Check Chain Tension: Adjust if necessary. A properly tensioned chain should be snug but still able to be pulled around the bar by hand.
  • Check Chain Sharpness: Sharpen the chain as needed. A dull chain increases effort and risk of kickback.
  • Check Chain Lubrication: Ensure the chain oil reservoir is filled and the oiler is functioning correctly.
  • Inspect Guide Bar: Check for wear, burrs, or damage. Clean the guide bar groove.

5.2 Periodic Maintenance

  • Air Filter: Clean or replace the air filter regularly (e.g., every 10-15 hours of operation) to ensure proper engine performance.
  • Spark Plug: Inspect and clean the spark plug. Replace if electrodes are worn or fouled (e.g., every 50 hours).
  • Fuel Filter: Inspect and replace the fuel filter as needed.
  • Carburetor Adjustment: If the engine runs poorly, the carburetor may need adjustment. This should ideally be done by a qualified service technician.
