3. Setup

3.1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
  2. Slide the cover downwards or press the latch and lift to open the compartment.
  3. Insert two (2) AA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align with the markings inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover, sliding it back into place until it clicks securely.

Note: Always use fresh batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.

3.2. Initial Setup and Pairing

This remote control is pre-programmed to work with most Comcast Digital Transport Adapters (DTAs) directly out of the box. No programming is typically required for basic DTA functions.

To control your television's power, volume, and mute functions, the remote may need to be programmed with a TV code. Refer to the programming instructions provided by Comcast or your DTA documentation for specific TV codes and programming steps. General steps often involve:

  1. Turn on your television.
  2. Press and hold the SETUP button on the remote until the indicator light (usually red) blinks twice.
  3. Enter the 3-digit TV code for your television brand. The indicator light should blink twice again if the code is accepted.
  4. Test the POWER, VOLUME UP/DOWN, and MUTE buttons. If they function correctly, the remote is programmed. If not, try other codes for your TV brand or repeat the process.

4. Operating Instructions

The remote control features various buttons for navigating and controlling your Digital Transport Adapter and, if programmed, your television.
