Follow these steps to prepare your Psychopoly game for play:
- Unfold the Game Board: Place the game board on a flat surface.
- Separate the Cards: Shuffle the Community Services cards and place them face down on their designated space on the board. Do the same for the Synchronicity cards.
- Designate a Banker: One player is chosen to be the Banker. The Banker is responsible for all Psychopoly money, property cards, houses, and hotels not yet owned by players. The Banker may also play as a regular player.
- Distribute Starting Money: Each player receives a specific amount of Psychopoly money from the Banker. Refer to the game's quick-start guide for exact starting amounts.

4. Operating (Gameplay)
Psychopoly follows a turn-based gameplay structure. Here are the basic rules:
4.1 Player Turn
- Roll the Dice: On your turn, roll both dice and move your token clockwise around the board the number of spaces indicated by the dice.
- Action Based on Space: The action you take depends on the space your token lands on:
- Unowned Property: You may buy the property (a famous psychologist) from the Banker for the price printed on the space. If you decline, the Banker immediately auctions it to the highest bidder.
- Owned Property: If you land on a property owned by another player, you must pay rent according to the property card. Rent increases if the owner has built Research Centers (houses) or Universities (hotels).
- Community Services or Synchronicity: Draw the top card from the respective deck and follow its instructions.
- Go to Asylum: If you land on or are sent to the 'Go to Asylum' space, move your token directly to the 'The Asylum' space and end your turn. You cannot collect $200 for passing 'GO'.
- Other Spaces: Follow instructions on spaces like 'Free Therapy', 'Just Viewing', or tax spaces.
- Doubles: If you roll doubles, you take your turn as usual, then roll the dice again for another turn. If you roll doubles three times in a row, you must immediately 'Go to Asylum'.
4.2 Building and Trading
- Building: Once you own all properties in a color group, you can buy Research Centers (houses) and Universities (hotels) from the Banker to place on your properties, increasing rent.
- Trading: Players can trade properties, money, and 'Get Out of Asylum Free' cards with each other at any time.
4.3 Winning the Game
The game ends when only one player remains solvent, meaning all other players have gone bankrupt. The last player remaining is the winner.
5. Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life of your Psychopoly game:
- Storage: Store all game components in the original box in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Cleaning: Wipe the game board and plastic components with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or excessive moisture.
- Handling: Handle cards and money carefully to prevent bending or tearing.
6. Troubleshooting
Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:
- Missing Components: If any components are missing upon opening the box, please contact the manufacturer for assistance.
