2. Setup

2.1. Battery Installation

2.2. Mounting the Flash Unit

To attach the TLA 30 flash to your camera:

  1. Ensure both the camera and flash unit are powered off.
  2. Slide the flash unit's mounting foot into the camera's hot shoe.
  3. Secure the flash unit by tightening the locking wheel or lever on the flash's mounting foot. Do not overtighten.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1. Powering On/Off

Locate the power switch on the flash unit. Slide or press the switch to the "ON" position to power on the flash. An indicator light will typically illuminate when the flash is ready to fire. To power off, move the switch to the "OFF" position.

3.2. Flash Modes and Settings

5. Troubleshooting

  • Flash not firing:
    • Check if the flash unit is powered on.
    • Ensure batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge.
    • Verify the flash is securely mounted in the camera's hot shoe.
    • Check camera settings for flash activation.
  • Incorrect exposure (too dark/too bright):
    • Confirm the camera's exposure mode is appropriate for flash photography.
    • Check camera's ISO setting.
    • Ensure the flash head is not obstructed.
  • Slow recycling time:
    • Batteries may be low. Replace with fresh batteries.
    • This is normal for some flash units after repeated full-power flashes. Allow time for the flash to cool and recharge.
