The innovative GMAX 40V Lithium-Ion Battery delivers high performance and efficiency among all GreenWorks GMAX tools. It features a simple snap on and off design for ease of use and an innovative battery charge level indicator. Lithium-ion batteries offer no negative memory effect, consistent fade free power throughout its entire run cycle and 3 times longer run time than Nicad batteries.

4. Setup

Charging the Battery:

Before first use, the battery must be fully charged. Use only the Greenworks 40V charger Model 29462.

  1. Connect the charger to a standard power outlet.
  2. Slide the battery into the charger until it clicks into place.
  3. The charger's indicator light will show the charging status. A full charge for a 2.0Ah battery typically takes 60 minutes.
  4. Once fully charged, remove the battery from the charger.

Note: If the battery is not charged for a long time, charge the battery for 2 hours every 2 months to maintain its health.

5. Operating Instructions

Inserting the Battery into a Tool:

  1. Ensure the tool is turned off and any moving parts have come to a complete stop.
  2. Align the battery with the battery port on the tool.
  3. Slide the battery into the tool until it clicks securely into place.

Removing the Battery from a Tool:

  1. Ensure the tool is turned off.
  2. Press the battery release button (if applicable) and slide the battery out of the tool.

Battery Charge Level Indicator:

The battery features an LED indicator to show the remaining charge. Press the button on the battery to activate the lights. More illuminated lights indicate a higher charge level.

For optimal battery life, store the battery with a partial charge (around 50%) in a cool, dry environment. Avoid storing fully charged or fully discharged batteries for long periods.
