4.1 Battery Installation

2. Close your mouth and hold the thermometer in place with your lips and fingers.
3. Wait for the thermometer to beep (approximately 60 seconds) to indicate the measurement is complete.
4. Read the temperature displayed.

Underarm (Axillary) Measurement (Less accurate, but suitable for infants and young children)

1. Ensure the underarm is dry.
2. Place the thermometer tip in the armpit so it touches the skin directly.
3. Hold the arm firmly against the body to keep the thermometer in place.
4. Wait for the thermometer to beep (approximately 60 seconds).
5. Read the temperature displayed. Note that axillary temperatures are typically 0.5°F to 1.0°F (0.3°C to 0.6°C) lower than oral temperatures.

Rectal Measurement (Most accurate for infants and young children)

1. Apply a water-soluble lubricant to the thermometer tip.
2. Gently insert the tip no more than 0.5 inches (1.3 cm) into the rectum. Do not force.
3. Hold the thermometer in place.
4. Wait for the thermometer to beep (approximately 60 seconds).
5. Read the temperature displayed. Rectal temperatures are typically 0.5°F to 1.0°F (0.3°C to 0.6°C) higher than oral temperatures.

5.3 Last Measurement Recall

When the thermometer is turned on, it will briefly display the last measured temperature before showing "Lo" and becoming ready for a new measurement.

5.4 Automatic Shut-Off

The thermometer will automatically shut off after approximately 10 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.

6.1 Cleaning and Disinfection

After each use, especially for rectal or oral measurements, clean the thermometer probe.
