  • Ensure the glass is completely dry before closing the lid or using the scanner.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners, alcohol, or solvents, as these can damage the scanner's surface.

5.2. Software Updates

Periodically check the official Canon support website for updated drivers and software to ensure optimal performance and compatibility with your operating system.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1. Common Issues and Solutions

  • Scanner not recognized by computer:
    • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the scanner and the computer.
    • Try connecting to a different USB port.
    • Restart both the scanner and the computer.
    • Verify that the correct drivers are installed. Reinstall if necessary.
  • Scanned images are blurry or distorted:
    • Clean the scanner glass thoroughly.
    • Ensure the document or film is placed flat and correctly aligned on the scanner glass.
    • Check the scanning resolution settings in the software; higher resolutions may require more processing time but yield sharper images.
  • Colors are inaccurate:
    • Calibrate the scanner using the provided software utility.
    • Adjust color settings within the scanning software (e.g., brightness, contrast, gamma).
    • Ensure the original document or photo is not faded or discolored.
