Setting the Time and Date

  1. Pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown (the knob on the side of the watch case) to position 2 for setting the date, or position 3 for setting the time. Refer to Figure 3 for crown location.
  2. Set the date (if applicable): If your watch has a date display, rotate the crown in position 2 until the correct date is shown.
  3. Set the time: Rotate the crown in position 3 to move the hour and minute hands. Ensure you set the correct AM/PM time, as this affects the date change.
  4. Push in the crown: Once the time and date are set, push the crown back into position 1 (normal operating position) to start the watch movement.

Maintenance

Cleaning Your Watch

To maintain the appearance of your watch, regularly wipe the case and crystal with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For the leather strap, avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, and harsh chemicals, as these can cause damage or discoloration.

Battery Replacement

Your Fossil FS4788 watch is powered by a Lithium Metal battery. When the watch stops running, it indicates that the battery needs replacement. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by an authorized Fossil service center or a qualified watchmaker to ensure proper sealing and functionality.

Water Resistance

While your watch may offer some level of water resistance, it is important to check the specific water resistance rating engraved on the case back. Avoid operating the crown or pushers when the watch is wet to prevent water ingress. Leather straps are generally not designed for water immersion.
