Installation Steps

Follow these steps for easy installation. No drilling or plumber is required.

  1. Prepare the Filter: Position the filter upside down. Use the included housing wrench to loosen and remove the housing by turning it clockwise. Remove the filter cartridge, unwrap it, and reinsert it into the housing. Ensure the housing O-ring and filter cartridge O-ring are correctly seated to prevent leaks. Twist the housing counter-clockwise onto the housing cap. Use the wrench to tighten the housing with another 1/4 to 1/2 of a turn. Do not overtighten.
  2. Connect to Faucet: Remove the aerator from your faucet. Determine the thread type and choose the appropriate adapter if needed. Ensure the seal washer is seated correctly. Install the adapter or 3-way valve to the faucet. Tighten the valve by turning the connector ring to the right. Unscrew the nut on the 3-way valve, insert the tubing onto the nipple, and then insert the nut to secure the tubing.
  3. Flush the System: Position the filter upside down in the sink. Turn on the faucet and turn the valve switch to the horizontal position to filter the water. Let the water fill until full and position the filter upright. Let the water run for at least 5 minutes to flush any loose carbon out of the filter from the dispenser. Turn off the faucet when flushing is complete.

Switching Between Filtered and Unfiltered Water

The iSpring CKC1C system features a convenient diverter valve that allows you to easily switch between filtered and unfiltered tap water. Simply twist the switch on the diverter valve to direct water either through the filter for drinking and cooking or bypass the filter for general use like washing dishes.

5. Maintenance

Filter Replacement

The carbon block filter cartridge should be replaced every 6-12 months, depending on your local water quality and usage. Regular filter replacement ensures optimal filtration performance and prevents the accumulation of contaminants.

  1. Turn Off Faucet: Ensure the faucet is completely off before beginning the replacement process.
  2. Remove Old Filter: Position the filter upside down in the sink. Use the housing wrench to loosen and remove the housing by turning it clockwise. Take out and dispose of the expired filter.
  3. Install New Filter: Unwrap the new filter. Insert the new filter back into the housing. Ensure the housing O-ring and filter cartridge O-ring are correctly seated to prevent leaks. Twist the housing counter-clockwise onto the housing cap. Use the wrench to tighten the housing with another 1/4 to 1/2 of a turn. Do not overtighten.
  4. Flush New Filter: Turn on the faucet and turn the valve switch to the horizontal position to filter the water. Let the water fill until full and position the filter upright. Let the water run for at least 5 minutes to flush any loose carbon out of the filter from the dispenser. Turn off the faucet when flushing is complete.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your iSpring CKC1C system, please refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • Leaks: Ensure all connections are tight, especially the housing cap. Check that the O-rings are properly seated and not damaged. Do not overtighten the housing.
  • Low Water Flow: This could indicate a clogged filter. If the filter has been in use for an extended period (over 6-12 months) or if your water quality is poor, consider replacing the filter.
  • Unusual Taste or Odor: If you notice a return of unpleasant tastes or odors, it is likely time to replace your filter cartridge. Ensure the system was properly flushed after installation or filter replacement.
  • Air Bubbles in Water: It is normal to see tiny air bubbles in the water when the filter is first installed or replaced. This usually disappears after a few days as trapped air is released.
