Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your BD-E5400, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Solution |
|---|---|
| No Power | Ensure the power cord is securely connected to both the player and a working electrical outlet. |
| No Picture/Sound | Verify the HDMI cable is correctly connected to both the player and the TV. Ensure the TV is set to the correct HDMI input. |
| Wi-Fi Connection Issues | Check your router's status. Re-enter your Wi-Fi password. Ensure your router's security settings are compatible (WPS is preferred, older WEP/WPA/WPA2 may cause issues). Try restarting both the player and your router. |
| Streaming Apps Lag/Slow | This can be due to slow internet speed or network congestion. Try moving the player closer to your Wi-Fi router or reducing other network activity. Ensure the player's firmware is up to date. |
| Disc Not Playing/Loading | Ensure the disc is clean and free of scratches. Verify the disc type is supported (Blu-ray, DVD, CD). Try a different disc. |
| Cannot Access Disc Menus | Some discs may have specific coding that makes menu access difficult or delayed. Ensure you are using the correct 'Disc Menu' button on the remote. |
| USB Video Playback Choppy | This can occur with certain video codecs, especially for MKV files. Ensure the file is not corrupted. Try converting the video to a different supported format like AVI. |
