4. Setup & Installation

Follow these steps to install the Everpure EV953440 Pre-Filter Cartridge into your standard 10-inch bowl drop-in system.

4.1 Preparation

  1. Turn off the main water supply to the filtration system.
  2. Open a nearby faucet to relieve pressure in the system.
  3. Place a bucket or towel under the filter housing to catch any spilled water.

4.2 Cartridge Installation

  1. Using a filter wrench (if necessary), unscrew the filter housing bowl from the cap.
  2. Remove the old filter cartridge and discard it.
  3. Clean the inside of the filter housing bowl with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  4. Inspect the O-ring on the housing cap. If it is damaged or worn, replace it. Lubricate the O-ring with a small amount of food-grade silicone grease to ensure a good seal.
  5. Insert the new Everpure EV953440 Pre-Filter Cartridge into the housing bowl, ensuring it seats properly.
  6. Carefully screw the filter housing bowl back onto the cap. Hand-tighten until snug, then use a filter wrench for an additional 1/4 to 1/2 turn to ensure a leak-free seal. Do not overtighten.

  3. Flush the system by running water through a nearby faucet for approximately 5-10 minutes to remove any air or loose carbon fines (if applicable, though this is a sediment filter).

5. Operation

Once installed, the Everpure EV953440 Pre-Filter Cartridge operates continuously to filter your water. It provides 1.0 micron nominal filtration, effectively reducing dirt, rust, and sediment. The cartridge is designed to maintain a flow rate of up to 4 GPM (Gallons Per Minute), ensuring efficient water delivery while protecting downstream filtration components.
