Laser Detection and Accuracy Modes
The LR1 receiver is designed to detect red-beam rotary lasers. When a laser beam hits the detection area, the dual-sided LCD display will show arrows indicating whether the receiver needs to move up or down to reach the on-grade position. Once on-grade, a solid line will appear on the display.
You can adjust the accuracy setting between a fine accuracy of 1/8 inch and a coarse accuracy of 1/32 inch using the dedicated button on the receiver. This allows for flexibility depending on the precision required for your task.

Audio Signal
The LR1 receiver provides an audible signal to assist in finding the on-grade position. The beeping pattern changes as you approach the laser beam, becoming a steady tone when the receiver is perfectly on-grade. You can toggle the audio signal on or off using the speaker button on the receiver.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Bosch LR1 laser receiver, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Keep the detection window clean and free of dust or debris.
- Storage: Store the receiver in its belt pouch or a protective case when not in use. Avoid storing it in extreme temperatures or high humidity.
- Battery Care: Remove the 9V battery if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent battery leakage and potential damage to the electronics.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the unit for any signs of damage, such as cracks in the casing or loose components.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Bosch LR1 receiver, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power:
- Check if the 9V battery is correctly installed with proper polarity.
- Replace the battery with a fresh one if it is depleted.
- No Laser Detection:
- Ensure the rotary laser is powered on and emitting a beam.
- Verify that the laser is a red-beam rotary laser compatible with the LR1.
- Check that the receiver's detection window is clean and unobstructed.
- Ensure the receiver is within the operating range (up to 650 ft) of the laser.
- Confirm the laser is in pulsing mode if required by the receiver.
- Inaccurate Readings:
- Ensure the receiver is held steady and perpendicular to the laser beam.
- Check the accuracy setting (1/8" or 1/32") and adjust as needed for your task.
- No Audio Signal:
- Press the speaker button to ensure the audio signal is enabled.
