Operating Instructions
1. Using the Tare Feature
The Tare feature allows you to reset the scale to zero, enabling you to measure multiple ingredients consecutively in the same container or to subtract the weight of a container itself.
- To measure multiple items: Place the first item on the scale. Once the weight stabilizes, press the Tare button (labeled with "TARE"). The display will reset to zero. Add the next item, and its weight will be displayed. Repeat as needed.
- To subtract container weight: Place an empty container (bowl, plate, etc.) on the scale. Press the Tare button. The display will reset to zero. Now, add your ingredients to the container, and only the weight of the ingredients will be measured.

2. Using the Display Hold Feature
The Hold feature is useful when weighing large items that might obscure the display. It allows the weight to be held on the screen even after the item is removed.
- Before placing the item, press the Hold button (labeled with "HOLD").
- Place the item on the scale.
- Wait for a beep sound, indicating the weight has been registered.
- You may now remove the item. The weight will remain displayed on the screen for you to read.

Maintenance
Cleaning
The Escali Arti Digital Food Scale features a natural bamboo surface that is easy to clean. Wipe the scale with a damp cloth after each use. Do not immerse the scale in water or use abrasive cleaners, as this can damage the electronic components.
Storage
Store the scale in a dry place at room temperature. Its slim design allows for easy storage in a drawer or cabinet, or it can be left on the countertop as a decorative item.
Troubleshooting
- "Lo" displayed: Indicates low battery. Replace the 2 CR2032 Lithium Metal batteries.
- "Err" displayed: Indicates the scale is overloaded. Remove items immediately to prevent damage. The maximum capacity is 15 pounds (6.8 kg).
- Inaccurate readings: Ensure the scale is on a flat, stable surface. Avoid placing it near strong electromagnetic fields (e.g., microwaves, large appliances). Recalibrate by turning the scale off and on again.
- Scale does not turn on: Check battery installation and ensure the plastic battery tab has been fully removed. Replace batteries if necessary.
